Character dinner?

I see a lot of character brunch/breakfast recs but I'm wondering about character dinners, preferably somewhere not in park so I don't have to use a day.

Currently the only character dinner is at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel.

THanks. that's what I thought. It was probably a stupid question since I already knew the answer.
Stupid question #2: Can I make a res there if I'm not staying at the hotel?

We were thinking of flying in early in the morn and hitting DL the first day, but now I'm thinking I may leave Hawaii (5hrs away) early morning and use that first day to buy groceries and explore DTD which we really didn't get to do the last time. And eat dinner I wanted to do brunch at Plaza, but maybe I can knock out the character meal that first day without losing any park time

Yes, anyone can make reservations online or by calling the dining reservation line

Not a stupid question! Yes, you can make reservations! You don't have to be staying at a Disney hotel to make dining reservations in DLR. Have fun!

I was reading the thread about GK. I wonder if it's worth it, or if we should eat somewhere in DTD and just do Plaza Inn instead.

So many options! Just this morning I was talking to DD about when we should go. We are thinking first full week of Oct, but I told her it's her Fall Break so she will likely have to bring her homework which doesn't sound fun at all to me. I told her if we go early June like last time, but it will be a little more crowded and no Halloween decor.
