We haven't decided for sure if we are doing a character meal this trip, but I'm confused on the prices! allears lists the prices for Minnie and Friends as $23.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids, but on getawaytoday they list regular character dining as $31 for adults and $16 for kids. And then there is a premium character dining for $38 and $20? What's the difference between those?

Just a heads up: Minnie and Friends is a character breakfast, they do not offer dinner. The only character offerings as far as dinners go is either Goofy's Kitchen or Ariel's Grotto.,

Yeah I know, don't know what i was thinking typing dinner- just meant character meals :) Thanks, though.

I can't say for sure what the prices are, but I think that the Minnie & Friends price of $23.99 might be accurate (unless it has been raised very recently) because when we went to Storytellers Critter Breakfast in October of 2009, their buffet price was $22.99 before tax and gratuity, and I was dissatisfied with it and said to my friends later that we should have gone to Minnie and Friends because the price at M&F was about the same and there were more characters. I had noticed the M&F price after we were done with Storytellers, so before we ate at Storytellers we assumed the M&F price would have been higher (because there ARE so many characters) and that is why we didn't eat there.

I know that the prices change depending on if it's high or low season (at least with Ariel's Grotto.) I would call Disney Dining directly and ask them for the prices (and make sure you know if that includes tax and tip). :goodvibes

Well I'm even more confused now LOL

I called Disney dining and they said Minnie and Friends was $23.99 for adults and Goofy's Kitchen was $25.99 for adults.

I also emailed getaway today and they said that the regular character meal covered Minnie and Friends but the premium one covered Goofy's Kitchen. So the regular price was $31 for adults but the premium one was $38. So why is Goofy's $7 more per person on getawaytoday but only $2 more per person according to Disney? Ugh! LOL

When booking rooms & packages through Disney, they've changed their character dining requests.

There is now resort dining and premium resort dining.

Resort dining includes:
Mickey & Friends breakfast - Paradise Pier Hotel
Chip & Dale's Critter breakfast - Grand Californian Hotel
Minnie & Friends breakfast - Disneyland
Steakhouse 55 breakfast - Disneyland Hotel
Carnation Cafe - Disneyland
Cafe Orleans - Disneyland
Big Thunder Mtn BBQ - Disneyland
Wine Country Trattoria - California Adventure

Premium Resort Dining
Goofy's Kitchen Meal (Breakfast/lunch-Dinner) - Disneyland Hotel
Ariel's Grotto (Lunch/Dinner) - California Adventure

The price difference MIGHT be because when you order the character meals ahead of time, the price is supposed to include tax & tip, where it doesn't include those when you pay at the restaurants.

Unless they changed it recently, I don't think that is always the case. The last time I called to ask about character meal prices, they told me that some meals include tax and gratuity already (i.e Goofy's Kitchen) while other didn't (i.e Minnie & Friends and I believe the former Lilo & Stitch breakfast). I definitely recommend asking the CM when you make the PS if the price includes tax and gratuity already.

Yes, I agree. When I booked our PS in October I wasn't even given the option to prepay, so if that's the case now they have changed it with the beginning of the Christmas season.
