Where is the best place for character dining do people think? we can book soon and am wondering what places people reccommend?

that depends on which characters you want to meet!

Cinderella's Royal Table is widely viewed as the pinnacle of character dining. Even if you don't have a member in your party that's just dying to see princesses, this is still a fantastic experience. Beware, it is quite pricey!

Chef Mickey's is a mainstay of our trips. We've done dinner and breakfast both here. The food is fine (not memorable), you get to see the Big Cheese himself...

On our last visit, we did breakfast at Ohana. Excellent food, and the kids had a blast with the little parade they do (and with Pluto accidentally dousing me with my water glass). We will go back here again.

We plan to do Crystal Palace for the first time this year. We've done Garden Grill and enjoyed it, as well. Prepare to be bombarded with suggestions! :rotfl:

We only did Chef Mickey's and Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker house last year. We enjoyed both (though it can get noisy and you don't get a huge amount of time to interact with the characters). I've heard The Crystal Palace (with Pooh) is good, as is the Cape May (I think that is what it is---ocean themed characters).

Our favorite is Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Last year we did it on a day we weren't planning on going to a park and had the later seating 10:30 or 10:45 I believe. The crowd had thined out considerably. Had lots of time with the characters and didn't feel rushed like someone was waiting on us to leave to have our table. Our server even spent a good 10 minutes or so talking to us while the kids were finishing up (all her other tables were gone). She brought us some saran wrap for our donuts and chocolate croissants we couldn't finish.

There are two things I wish I could get at Chef Mickey's though - 1.) the breakfast lasagna from Crystal Palace and 2.) the chilled strawberry soup from 1900 Parke Faire.

Cape May breakfast was good character interaction but our favourite was Chef Mickeys dinner. 1900 Park Fare was funny, Crystal Palace nice, Garden Grill OK, Donalds Breakfastosaurus was great (now Tusker House). We enjoyed them so much we are doing most of them again in July. Like said before depends which characters you want to see, for me its always Mickey!

As a PP noted, it depends on who's doing the viewing! But, we've done: Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast), Chef Mickey (breakfast), Tusker House (breakfast), Cape May Cafe (breakfast), Crystal Palace (dinner) and 1900 Park Fare (dinner). We have a young son and daughter. Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey are the only ones we've done multiple times. Cinderella's Royal Table is terrific as it's fun to actually go in the castle, the food is good and if you make your breakfast reservation early you are in the MK before all the crowds and that is wonderful on its own. Chef Mickey is great and is the best for overall character viewing (I've had the breakfast lasagne there). Crystal Palace is the least memorable character dining experience we've done so far (food and facility-wise), but getting to watch the light parade from the porch was nice. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS!!!

Our MUST do character meals are Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. We will add 1-2 more this trip but these 3 are the best! :cloud9:

Here are our favs:

Chef Mickeys - Dinner (mickey & friends)
Crystal Palace - Dinner (pooh & friends)
Akershus - Breakfast (princesses)

DH and I love Crystal Palace (Pooh & friends, my favs!):goodvibes, Tusker House (Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey & Minnie...food was good, their juice is to die for delicious:thumbsup2!!) & Chef Mickey...Liberty Tavern was fun but unfortunately, they discontinued that one...we haven't made it to Ohana yet but have heard all great things from friends that have gone...next time.

As PP stated, it all depends on who you want to see. We loved Cinderella's Royal Table too...awesome dinner but not enough character interaction in my opinion.

If you've never done CRT and have kids, you need to try it at least once. It's overpriced and the food's not that great, but there's just something cool about going inside the Castle. For character interaction, you can't beat Chef Mickey's, and I love the breakfast at Crystal Palace!

Last year, we did Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House, lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table, dinner at Chef Mickey's and a dinner at Akershus. We absolutely loved eating in the castle, and hope to get the coveted breakfast reservation for our trip this year. We are planning to book Ohana for breakfast, we've heard some great things! Also, maybe a meal at Crystal Palace. Plan to return to Chef Mickeys and Akershus (but this time for breakfast)>

thanks for all the ideas and Ohanas is awesome, we went in our last trip and its great fun we are probably going to book that again its good food and the character interaction is really really good
