We are going to POR in eight weeks, while we are there it is our sons birthday[6 yrs]. Any advice on which character dining will suit. Thinking preferably buffet and at dinner time. Thankyou if you reply.

You didn't say if you wanted it IN a park or not, but...I would pick Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. It's a buffet, decent food, GREAT characters and fun, and all the classic characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and sometimes Donald.
Hope this helps!

Crystal Palace in MK - if he likes Pooh and Friends

Hollywood & Vine (Breakfast or Lunch) in MGM - if he likes Rolly Polly pre-K show

1900 Park Faire (breakfast) in the GF - if he likes Mary Poppins and The Mad Hatter

:cool1: 'Ohana (breakfast) in the Polynesian - if he likes Stich, Lilo & Mickey. Stitch is a blast here. He plays with your salt and pepper, trys to lick your butter, gets in trouble with the waiters. 'Ohana also has a character parade where every child get to use (and return) a maraca. - Our choice for you :cool1:
After go to the gift shop and buy your DS a blue/green tie-dyed Stitch
t-shirt. Our tween DS even wanted one. The t-shirt comes in small size 6-8 to extra-large 16-18. :thumbsup2
I know you mentioned dinner - but please do 'Ohana - try an early entry morning to MK - or the 'Little One Fantasy Land ride open 1 hour early" days.
Then do 'Ohana as a late breakfast - 10 AM. Take the monorail from MK to the Polynesian (ask to sit in front of the monorail). Also get your DS a birthday button at the ticket booth or 'Town Hall' in MK.

Mention the birthday on the ADR. You son will get a cupcake - even for breakfast. Most likey a card signed by all the characters too.
