Character Dining Swap--ARRIVING HOME!!

Hi everyone!! We're back, and I've managed to dig out from under the laundry pile!!

Po3--I cleaned out my pm box! I kept getting emails saying, "Party of 3 is trying to send you a pm, but your box is 100% full". I can get the emails, but I don't have internet access to see the DIS, so I was thinking, "But I want to know what she said. . .send me the pm to my email!!!" I'm all fixed now, though, so pm away!!

Susie has had to drop out because of some family stuff--lots of pixie dust and prayers to her. For the Donald group, I'm just going to make it 4 people now. For the others, do you all want to leave it at 3, or does someone want to angel? I'll leave that question open til tomorrow, and then leave the groups set, in case people are already ready to make stuff!!

I'm off to update our first post stuff!!

Hi all!

I'm actually almost finished up with my LTT items. I'm putting the final touches on the paper piecings tonight. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I hope everyone else likes the pieces I made. I'll post pictures here once I'm completely finished.

Hey guys for those of you who haven't started yet, are we all going to do like colors of the characters in the groups that we are in? That we all of our stuff matches? I know that my groups costumes are like muted, soft colors. It would be nice to have everything matching for the same pages....

Michi--I'm not requiring that every group match. . .I didn't put that in originally, and I know that some people have already bought supplies! You're right, though--if everyone goes with the basic color scheme of the restaurant/theming, all of our elements will at least end up coordinating!

I was planning on going with the decor of my characters for each of my groups- I already have pictures from each of the places I signed up for sso I was going to use those to check on colors.

Hi there! I thought of that too so I just went kinda neutral on my journaling box and mats. I'll tell you about what I made already. I think it would match others crafted items okay. Here is everyone in our group:

N1. Liberty Tree Group 2--FULL--MAKE 4!!
1. MichiBelle--journal box/slide mount, ATC
2. mycutiepatooties--paper piecing, journal box, mat
3. rlovew--file folders & topper
4. Mischief Managed--squares & paper piecing

I made a paper piecing of Minnie in her colonial dress. I modified a dress Minnie wore on a coloring page and made it look like the colonial dress then I used that to cut out all the paper piecing little pieces. Her dress is a perfect match to the 2 years of photos I have from that character meal. I used a light sage green tone on tone small scale swirly patterned paper from Anna Griffin for the dress. I used a slightly darker green suede paper for her underskirt on the dress. I cut the 3 pink bows on the front of her dress and used a peachy/pink marker to color them in. I made a white cap with a green ribbon on it too. I searched the internet for what color her shoes are with that particular outfit and I couldn't find any photos that showed her feet. So I guessed and made her shoes brown. It actually looked a little weird to have black shoes--you couldn't see her ankle and the shoe detail was completely lost (heel dimension etc.). I put pink bows on each shoe to tie in her dress. I hope that it doesn't bother anyone that I took some creative license on her shoes and that they may not be completely accurate. If it does please pm me and I'll change yours to whatever you'd like-no problem. She looks really cute and I'm hoping that everyone likes it.

For my journaling box, I made a white and black colonial style design that matches the LTT sign that hangs out front. It's the same design, just blank for journaling. It has layers and shading/chalking for dimension.

I didn't think it would look right to make my photo mats character color specific, so I went with browns, white, and black. That way you could put a photo of Pluto, Goofy, or Chip and Dale on the mats and it's not some green and pink mat based on Minnie's outfit. Does that sound okay? I'll embellish the mats a little with a ribbon or stitch them on my sewing machine or something so they aren't just boring plain colored mats. I'm still working on this so I'm open to any ideas!!!

Does this sound okay for everyone in my group? This is my first swap on here so I'm a newbie and I'm open to suggestions anyone has.

That sounds awesome! I did something similar in the Eats Swap last year. I had LTT character meal, and I made Goofy in his colonial attire. I would love to get a peek at your Minnie now.

I was looking through my photos to see if I had one with Minnie's shoes in it. Can't fine one, but man, I wish they would bring back that character meal. So much fun!

MCP- that sounds wonderful. I'm not in that group, but i'm sure it awesome. I'd love to see a pic of it.
I too am sad that they don't do that one anymore. We had a blast there! Ds had been so sick the day before and ended up in the ER and we were not sure if we were going to be able to make that meal and we did and I'm so glad. Chip and Dale were so acting up and the dragged ds into it. Chip was pulling Dale's tale and blaming it on ds. That whole side of the restaurant was laughing so hard. I think the 3 of them played for 15 minutes running around the place. I took a ton of pics. C & D would go to tables to see the other kids but kept coming back and getting Bubba to play with them. One of our all time favorite memories from that trip!!! And to think we almost did not go.

For chef Mickey i used-red,black,white--these turned out very cute
crystal palace-green,orange,yellow,black...

Am I in trouble I would hate to make new things all over agian. I am sorry If i did anything wrong this is my first swap and I dont know sorry let me know I feel bad now. But I also love my items that I came up with.

i'm not the hostess but i don't think you did anything wrong at all. chef mickeys are all those colors. i think it's all up to the person making their stuff to decide which colors to use. i'm sure it will be fine. like i said this is just my opinion. i'm sure Brooke will come on and let us know!
