I see a lot of info about character dining but I have a question and I am sorry if it is dumb

Can you eat at a resort that you aren't staying in??? What are the logistics of it, and is it difficult to accomplish? I am not even sure I want to, but want to know my options.

Also my daughter is allergic to milk which takes out some common kid items (mac n cheese, pizza, pancakes) and she won't touche a hamburger or pasta sauce. Do you think Disney would accomodate for me? I hate to pay an arm and a leg for say breakfast and she eats toast and bacon

Hi! Your questions are not dumb at all!

Yes, you can eat at any resort you want to, no matter where you are staying (even if you're not staying on Disney property!). Will you have a car? Where are you staying? With a car it is super easy to get around. At the monorail resorts, you can go to any of those hotels for a character meal (all 3 of them have some sort of character breakfast, and Grand Floridian and Contemporary both have character dinners). At the Epcot area resorts, you have Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club for breakfast.

As for your daughter's milk allergy, if you make note of it on your reservation and then again when you arrive at the restaurant, the chef will maybe come out and speak to you and tell you what she could eat. Not sure if they would prepare something special for her, but they might. Someone else could probably give you a more definite answer on that one.

We eat allll over. I actually try to pick restaurants at other resorts, just for a reason resort hop and go see a new place that maybe next time we could possibly stay at.

Its fairly simple to bounce around using the Disney buses and monorails. For example. we have planned to go to eat at kona cafe at the Polynesian and we're staying at pop. So we're going to take a bus to magic kingdom and then ride the monorail over to the poly and then back to MK to enjoy the day there!

Disney also allows you to note any allergies on any reservations, i also believe you can call and talk to a chef prior to going as well. Disney is pretty accommodating to things like this.

Hope this helps!

Thanks that helps. We are probably staying at Pop Century, but possibly all stars. Now I just have to figure out if we will have the xtra money and what will wow my 3 year old the most :)

No question is dumb.

Disney is wonderful with dealing with food allergies, or any disability.

You should post on the disabilities forum, there are many food allergy people there that can offer great advice.

Good luck and have a safe and happy trip.

oh and I should add we won't have a car....

No need for one anyways! Save the money! Even if it means waiting 10-15 minutes for a bus,, it's still quick and included in the price. Think of it as saving on parking! :)

This will be our first time staying at pop, but I heard pop has it's own busline whereas the all stars share a line. That made the deciding vote for us on where to stay.
