Hi. My friend and I are visiting WDW very soon. We are both in our 20s. Would it be strange for the two of us to go to a character meal without children? I haven't done a character meal before, not even as a child. Which ones would you suggest for a couple of young adults? Thanks!

it is not strange at all, people do it all the time. and don't feel strange about interacting with the characters, taking your pictures with them, etc. the character meals for for kids of ALL ages!!!
as far as which ones, depends on which characters you like.

Not strange at all! Dh and I have eaten at Chef Mickey's and Goofy's Kitchen (DL) by ourselves many times. We wouldn't miss it!

Regards,
C.

Me and DW have gone to breakfast at Crystal Palace and its a great breakfast place, the characters tend to head over to the kids calling them, I did wave Piglet over to hug DW and get a picture, that was great not everyone is there for the charactors, we were there for breakfast, has been a few years since Chef Mickey's with the kids now grown and getting married but hay no kids with us now and who knows when we will have grand kids to take so right now we go to Disney at least one a year by ourselves. We do tend to go in October and head mostly over to EPCOT for the food and Wine Fest most of the nights but during the day head to all the rides. O yea we are in our mid to later 50's and usually stay at POP in the 1950's area when not staying at Riverside. Just don't forget your camera.

For my July trip... I have 5 out of 9 TS meals that are character meals. I would say it is not strange! lol.

We personally enjoyed 1900 Park Fare because the step sisters are hillarious!

Crystal Palace is a must every trip as well.

We are going to Garden Grill this time as well because I hear the Character interaction is wonderful!

I would say think about which characters you want to see and what type of food you want.

We find the character meals are great alternatives to waiting in line to meet characters! :)

Have fun!!

Not strange at all. DF and I ate at CRT when we got engaged and had a great time interacting with the princesses--it would be even more fun to interact with the non-human characters! We saw several other couples there as well, so go for it! The greatest thing about Disney is that everyone gets to be a kid.

Not strange at all! I liked the 1900 Park Fare meal with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Evil Step-Mother and Step-Sisters. The mother and sisters are hilarious! My favorite breakfast is at Ohana's plus you get Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. Also like Garden Grill, the rotating restaurant for dinner with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. If you want to dine with the princesses I recommend breakfast at Akershus. Better food that Cinderella's castle and not as expensive. Chef Mickey's is a classic with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. We've done Tusker House, Hollywood and Vine (pass on for adults), Crystal Palace good and you will see Pooh and friends, Garden Grove (only 1 character maybe 2 very disappointing food not great on our visit either), and Cape May Cafe is fine. We also like Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the Fort Wilderness Pavillion with Mickey and friends. Just go and have fun!!!!

Thanks for the input guys! I just remember what good ol' Walt wanted, people of ALL ages to enjoy everything his parks had to offer. With that, my friend and I decided to go ahead and reserve a character breakfast. Being that we are going to be there very very soon (19 days), the only ones available for breakfast were the princess one at Epcot, Cape May Cafe and Hollywood and Vine. The princess breakfast available time was too late for our liking. Hollywood and Vine is for the toddlers with the Playhouse Disney characters, so we chose Cape May Cafe. It will be fun. Who doesn't love Donald, Minnie and Goofy?

If you want, keep checking back to see if anything becomes available. People are always canceling and switching around their ADR's up until the last moment. If you are relying on Disney transportation and are not staying in the EPCOT resort area (BWI, YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin) an early Cape May ADR is a pain to get to. Taking a taxi to your ADR is always an option.

Just to agree with everyone else, you wont feel out of place at all. In the past my girlfriend and I have done a lot of character dining on previous trips.:thumbsup2

Oh fun! i totally think you should do it!!!

Cape May at Beach Club is really nice.

Akershus at Norway in Epcot is awesome.

Those would be my top two choices.

My friend will have her car :)

And that is a good tip. I will check reservations every evening until I go.

We go all the time! And we are ALL adults! :thumbsup2 Some of our favs are:

Chef Mickeys (dinner) - you get the fab 5!

Donalds Breakfast (Tusker House at Animal Kingdom) - Best breakfast on property IMO! Plus you get Daisy with this one!

1900 Park Fare (dinner @ GF) - The stepsisters are quite entertaining! And the only place you get Prince Charming!

No matter what you choose... you will have a blast! :goodvibes

My husband and I ate at Cape May's 2 times without kids when we stayed there in 2003. It was fantastic...good food and great character interactions. :thumbsup2

If you can do a lunch too I would suggest the Crystal Palace. The food is great and it is Pooh characters. We go every trip. Now we have kids and they enjoy them too :)

My fiance and I will be doing a few character meals on our honeymoon. I love Chrystal Palace for breakfast. I'll be 31 and he'll be 44. The only thing people may find strange is our age difference, but obviously we're perfectly fine with it. Enjoy! Character meals are so much fun!!!!
