My husband & I are going to DL in May & were wondering what is the best character dining experience for just 2 adults. We love DL & have been many times, but never done character dining. Any thoughts? I would like to try something other than breakfast, but I know that DH will not want lunch with the princesses. ;)

There are 4 choices for breakfast: Chip N Dale's Storyteller's Cafe, Lilo & Stich's PCH Grill, Goofy's Kitchen and Minnie & Friends at Plaza Inn. I'm not sure, what time brunch ends for Goofy's Kitchen, Lilo & Stitch's & Chip N Dale's, but it might run past lunch (maybe 2pm?). Ariel's Grotto definietly does lunch with dinner only when the park closes past 6pm. Goofy's Kitchen is the only one that does dinner each day of the week.

So that leaves Goofy's Kitchen for a meal other than breakfast and without a lot of princesses. We love Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. You can take a look at menus at www dot dlresortinfo dot com.

We love Goofy's kitchen for dinner, too! The best pime rib- yummmm! AND you can get a cocktail if you want. AAA, too

Minnie & Friends Breakfast is by far my favorite. I also love the atmosphere - the restaurant decor is very Disneyesque, and you can see the Castle What could be better than that???
I've only ever been with groups of all adults and the characters always spend a fair amount interacting with us. We've also met quite a few characters there: Minnie, the Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, Chip & Dale, Eeyore, Peter Pan, Wendy, Tigger, Gepetto, and a few others who's names escape me at the moment.
I would suggest, though, that you ask to sit on the inside and to the left (closer to the castle).

Here's a photo of Gepetto sitting down w/us & trying on my friend's glasses (I've posted this pic on another thread, so some may have seen it before):

I have LOTS more with them being silly, but I don't want to bore everyone! LOL

Goofy's Kitchen is fun, but I felt like it was really more kid oriented (which is fine and totally understandable)
Storyteller's Cafe was nice, but the selection is small - in food and characters. This was kind of boring.
We haven't done Lilo & Stitch or Ariel's yet.

I hope you have a great time whichever you decide on! :wizard:

Goofy's Kitchen does have a time set every hour where the kids can come together and play music on plastice pots and pans. But most tables are enough away from this where it does not bother us

My husband and I were there in October 2007 for our anniversary. The fairy godmother saw my husband sitting alone at the table wearing his anniversary pin (I had gone to get my food). She asked him what my name was and started calling my name through the whole restaurant. She came and found me and brought me back to my table (because I shouldn't have left him alone on our anniversary). She then held a whole conversation with us and took several pictures.

It was so much fun because they personalized the whole thing.

We love doing the breakfast with the characters.

my DH and I done Goofys Kitchen and it was fab - one of the best I have done including WDW & DLP! Belle came over to me and spoke whilst my husband was getting some food and she asked me where he was, so I explained that he was hugary and couldnt wait any longer for her. When my husband came back she came running over shouting his name and siad " I cant believe I am finally meeting you after all this time" she must have spent a good 5 minutes with us, and my husband was suitably embarrased!!!

It was a great time and we weret rushed and the food was good!

I would recommend Storytellers. There are a few less characters but it is much more relaxed. Beautiful place, good food and nice character interaction. Oh, and I have to recommend the banana french toast. Yummy!

On the other hand, it might depend on which characters you prefer to see.
Here's a sample of who we have seen at different times and where:
Chip n Dale @ Storytellers - Chip, Dale, Raffiki, Coda, Kenai and Meeko.
Minnie's @ Plaza Inn - Minnie, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Brer Bear, Brer Fox
Goofy's Kitchen - Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan
Lilo & Stitch @ Paradise Pier - Lilo, Stitch and Minnie
Ariel's Grotto - Ariel, Snow White, Princess Aurora, Jasmine, Alice, Cinderella

Piggy backing on Mariepz, at GK we saw:

Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Peter and Wendy, Turk, Mickey and Minnie... and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. We saw no princesses which was okay for us but would upset some groups.

We had the best time!

We've decided to try Goofy's for dinner and Minnie's for breakfast. Now the question becomes, what time ahould we book for good character interaction?
