Character Dining: best and worst?

Best for us is Crystal Palace breakfast and the Tusker house breakfast. The worst was Akershus at dinner, followed by Chef Mickey's at dinner.

Been to (I will rate them 1 to 6...1 being my fave to 6 being my least fave):
2-Chef Mickey's dinner- great character interaction, nice buffet (something for everyone to eat) but heard the quality of food is so-so, got a nice picture (we have only been once in 2005)
3-Ohana breakfast- nice character interaction, food is okay but kinda pricey for breakfaast food (went once in 2015)
5-Garden Grill dinner- too chaotic, hard to get refills on food and drinks, quick character interaction (went once in 2013)
4-Akershus dinner- great interaction with princesses, nice picture, some food is good and some is icky. And, again, another pricey one. (went once in 2014)
1-Liberty Tree Tavern dinners that used to have characters- awesome character interaction and food (wish they'd bring back the characters...been many times)
6-Ciderella's Royal table breakfast- WAY too expensive for breakfast food (pastries). Wait was long and slow. Had to dress up. Character interaction was good though and we got a nice picture. But, man, is it expensive (2 credits on DP, went in 2006)

Our favorite is lunch at Crystal Palace. The food is the best of the buffets we've been too, and Pooh and friends are great. I've heard their breakfast is great and am really trying to get a reservation for breakfast in July! 2nd favorite is TH breakfast.

For the worst, I would say it's a tie between H&V and CRT.
Why did you rate CRT as the worst? We've been twice for breakfast and loved it.
Trying it again this year. Just curious on your experience.

Also H&V? If you don't mind sharing. Booked a Fantasmic Package there for the holiday. Kids want to see characters in holiday attire.

We went to CRT for lunch. The wait was ridiculous, the food was terrible, especially considering the price. We were really rushed and the service just wasn't good, either.

We also had lunch at H&V. The food was terrible there also and service was bad. It took forever for the characters to get around.

I don't regret going to either one, since we were really just going for DD to meet the characters which she enjoyed, but now that we've done them once, it's definitely not worth going back.

Best: Tusker House dinner
Runner-up: Crystal Palace breakfast (pre-park opening ADR)

Worst: Chef Mickey brunch

We love Tusker house (lunch and breakfast), Cape May for breakfast and Hollywood and Vine for lunch! the kids absolutely love the Disney Jr. characters at H&V and the fact that they take their time at each table and do dances throughout lunch is especially wonderful for my two year old who can't seem to sit in his high chair for an entire meal! My daughter LOVES the Mickey waffles at Cape May and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed for a character meal. Least favorite is Chef Mickeys - acoustics are terrible in the restaurant area and everything seems very chaotic to me. OOps - forgot to mention Garden Grove at the Swan for dinner - very nice! food was good and characters were great. My kids are huge Goofy fans so it was perfect!

Favorites:

1900 Park Fare dinner is our favorite for both food and character interaction, the step sisters and Lady Trumaine were great.
Crystal Palace breakfast food was good, characters were slow to come around
Tusker House lunch, delicious, good character interaction too

Chef Mickeys breakfast, ok, not bad but not great food

Best: Tusker House
Worst: CRT.

Characters are an addition to good food, not a replacement for good food. Far too often the food at character meals is an after thought, especially at CRT.

Fav is Crystal Pal. Love the characters and location. The setting is so bright and happy. Good food.
CRT was cool because its in the castle. Food was good. Princesses were warm and happy.
Had DDs 6th bday at Chef Mickeys. We had good food there and the characters were fun.
Least fav was Tusker House. Food was good and characters were friendly but the wait was long and the restaurant was dark and seemed a little shabby.
