Character connection at Epcot

When we went, we peeked in several times through the day and usually wound up going in because there was always an odd character. You can pretty much count on Mickey and Minnie, but we also saw Mary Poppins, Max, and even Daisy - the first time we've *ever* seen Daisy and judging from the reactions around us, it was a first for a lot of WDW regulars. :)

It does seem the Character Connection is an unknown meet and greet. We walked in and DW and I had our pictures taken with all the characters, youngest DS also had his picture taken. The other two kids wanted nothing to do with the characters. We were in and out in like fifteen minutes max. When we went it was Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, and Chip & Dale. it was very empty and we were able to take several pictures with each character. Hopefully there will be a rotation of characters when we go in October. If not more pictures with Mickey. :cool1: :worship: ::MickeyMo

Someone mentioned the characters being available from 9-5. We also saw them during EMH at night during May. The CM said they would be there during the entire EMH.

When we were there last week we saw: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Goofy, Mary Poppins, and Pinoccio (sp!). It was empty. DD had a chance to play with each of the characters.

We discovered the Character Connection when we were at Epcot in December last year. It was great!! We didn't have a clue what it was and it was such a pleasant surprise to see the characters w/o waiting in long lines. We also had our picture made with the Incredibles - but I can't remember where that was! :confused3 It was in a building similar to the Character Connection and had other characters too. I think this is a great way meet and greet the characters. Of course, we always try to go to the character trails at AK too. I love Mickey & Minnie in their safari outfits!

Add me to the "Lovin' character connection" list - we were there on Monday (Labor day) and there were maybe 5 people in there with us my daughter (3) got to dance with minnie and chip and dale held both of my kids (3 and 5 months) it was GREAT - one of the best character interactions I have EVER had!

The Character Connection is in the location where wine tastings are held throughout the Food & Wine Festival.

All due respect to character fans - I'm fervently hoping that we've been told the truth by CMs that characters will get the boot in favor of the tastings as of 9/29.

The second location for tastings is absolutely abysmal as a venue.

And if a CM on these boards can comment, it would be appreciated.

Oh I hope that they do not give the characters the boot in favor of wine-tasting. Being a monther of 3, the character connection sounds great! When we went last year we saw a lot of characters after opening at EPCOT when they got off the double-decker bus. I was hoping to be able to sleep-in on our EPCOT day.

Wonder if they use the building for wine-tasting if they'll bring back the double-decker bus character meet and greet at opening?

We were there from 8/18 - 8/26 and visited Character Connection several times and talked to several CMs. What we were told is that Mickey, Pluto, Donald, Minnie and Chip-n-Dale are always "inside" but where you come on through the breezeway they always have about 2 characters present and it changes through out the day.

We were able to see Goofy, Max, Belle, Mary Poppins, Prince John, Cinderella, Alice, not sure of any others.

We had a funny story. My ds just loved this place and visiting the characters. We were there on 8/26 in the morning around 9:30, right when they open and we went in to see the main characters. Mickey started to run over to my ds and ds ran to him. Well, Mickey by mistake kicked my ds, Mickey's shoe went flying off, ds fell to the ground crying (not really hurt, just being a 5 yr old) well all the characters came over to him to see if he was ok and this is what I was able to get:

It's a shame that ds had to get kicked by Mickey to get a photo like this, but I might make him wear shin guards next trip and take a couple of more for the team :lmao:

Don't forget if you're a Disney Visa cardholder, inside Innoventions (the side with the fire truck) there is a private character greeting and photo session, which includes a free 5 x 7 photo. We had our picture done with Mickey and Pluto and they shot about 12 photos. We were the only ones in there and it was really lots of fun.

Is that still going on? I thought it was only for a limited time kind of thing. We'll be there in October and would love that!

Does this mean the character connection will not be there during the Food & Wine Festival? Does anyone know if the big red character bus still comes around? Thanks!

This photo is PRICELESS! What a rare opportunity to have multiple characters in the picture...a treasured gem for sure!

Oh my, I really hope that the characters will be there for Food and Wine fest. We are going during that time and I have been sooo looking foward to taking ds3 to see all the characters there. He loves seeing them. I will be so upset if there is no place there to see them like that. :guilty:
