Character Caravans at Resorts?

I need some help. Last time I was at WDW (2001) they had a character caravan which featured a few characters that visited the resort on certain mornings. It was wonderful, no waiting in long lines and an opportunity to meet some different characters. I believe this only happened at the Deluxe resorts (we were at the Poly). This time we are at AKL, April 13- 19. Do you if this is still happening and on what days this happens at AKL? Thanks so much for your help!

This was put in place during the short time that they stopped offering Early Entry (now Extra Magic Hour). Once they began EMH, they stopped the Character Caravan.

There are plenty of characters out in the parks.

Darn! Thanks for your help anyway. We'll have a ball seeing the characters in the parks and at a character meal, but it was very special to have them come to the hotel. Oh well. Thansk again.

We were at CSR that year and they would be at the bus stops in the morning. It was a nice treat while waiting for the buses. The characters are much more accessable at the parks now compared to years past. Shouldn't have any problems finding your favorites.
