Character calling before you leave?

I have read on the boards of a man who had a special surpise for his wife before they left for their trip. He had a character call the house... I can't believe I didn't know about this!! That sounds so great!!

Does anyone have any information on this? I would love to do this for DFi before we leave for our trip this summer... as well as my little brother (8) before our trip in December for the wedding. He has never been, and would just melt!!!

I've never heard of this...would love to do the for my DS8 before our trip. He has already made a paper chain and we have 62 days left (he made it at 85 days). So, as you can tell he is super excited!!!

I can't remember where I found it but there was a Princess website, and we had Cinderella call our DD to say have a nice trip. If you search for Disney princess's you may find it.

I know about hte fairy god mailer list, where another DIS member sends a postcard, but this I never heard about, nor can I find the inof anywhere. Can someone help?

It's called Disney Enchanted Call. There is a choice between the princesses and Mickey Mouse, Tigger and Pooh. If the link doesn't work, google Disney's enchanted call and it will come up. Each call is$2.49.

We did this for our boys last year and they thought it was so special that they were getting calls from Disney.

I had 2 different calls set up for the 2 older ones. We had them call us the morning we were packing up and getting ready to head to the airport. Not knowing how long each call was going to take I spaced them out 15 minutes apart....big mistake, the 2nd child felt left out since his call didn't come 1st and he didn't think he was going to get one....what a long 15 minutes that was

We also did the fairy godmailer and then these calls, what a great way to get the magic going

I haven't done it, but was playing around. I chose Good Morning. Then, on the next page, there are choices to personalize it (like 'going on a trip').

This is SO cool!!! DS doesn't know yet that we're going to WDW in 18 DAYS!!! What a COOL way to tell him!!!!! I wonder if you can REALLY personalize it for Mickey to say that you're going to visiting HIM!!! I would love to do that about 15 minutes before the car is supposed to be there to pick us up!! THAT would be AWESOME!!!

Great Thread...Thanks for the info. But I have a question for someone who has used this service. I want to get this for my friends the night before we leave for the World in 10 days. I was going to have it call thier cell phones. I was reading the directions and it says that when they call, you have to press "1" within 40 seconds of answering. Does it tell you to do this (seems like it is set up to call your home phone where the person sending it will answer and know what to do). I just want to be sure that it will give instructions to whoever answers the phone. Thanks again for the info!
