Character breakfasts at PPH and GCH?

I answered your question on the Trip Reports page. Have fun!!

cuter - 39, works for and with abused children; DH 46 - school police detective.
WE WENT TO DISNEYLAND! 3-11-01 to 3-15-01

We did Minnie's breakfast at the PPH. It was the BEST character meal i have ever donw (and i have done nearly all of the charc. meals in WDW). Merlin the wizard is there, and does magic shows, belle and gaston did a sing song, minnie danced around....the characters were great and the interaction was wonderful (and they spent lots of time). My daughter went dressed up as Alice in Wonderland and merlin brought her up onto the little stage and introduced alice to everyone...then did a dance with her. Also, the food was GREAT.....made to order omelet bar, all kinds of great food and desserts. They had drinking boxes and yogurts, so we grabbed some and stuck them in the backpack for later!! I didnt feel bad doing that because my daughter was so excited and she refused to eat! She had 1/2 cup of apple juice and about 3 bites of a bagel. I dont allow her to keep grabbing stuff from a buffet and have a full plate, and not eat it. Only allowed 2 things at a time! I would go to this one for sure if you have kids...they will love it!

Thanks to both of you for your replies! I think we will switch from the GC breakfast to the Minnie and Friends - it sounds more fun. Should be great for my nieces and nephew (ages 3-11), who have never been to DL or WDW, let alone a character breakfast! Thanks again.

Minnie and Friends at the Paradise Pier - Noticibly Merlin was absent! I asked and he had been gone for months. We loved Merlin! Last year we loved this one, this year...so so at best. They managed the characters poorly on the day we went. 1 character after 1 full hour. They did a shoort limbo dance with the kids that they loved. But the folks on the other side of the room got all the characters. The waiter hinted that it was time to go and after I told him that we were waiting for the characters the he came back with one and dragged one more over after the next limbo dance. I don't know if this is usual or they were having a bad day. BRING BACK MERLIN!

The breakfast at GCH was great. The day we went apparantly they had recently decided to try keeping the characters "central" and not to have them tour the tables. This was in early March, I don't know if they have decided to go back to touring the tables. The ambience of the restauraunt is great. The meet and great worked ok, but I would rather have them tour, When we did visit the characters we had a good time. They passed out musical instuments and had the kids join in a march which they all loved.

Goofy's Kitchen still is the best in my book! Busy, bustling. high energy, well managed character visits and the Macarena dance all make it in my book. Go Goofy, Go Goofy!!!!

He had gotten the ax by March .They said he wasn't returning...but I am crossing my fingers.

Cheeeeeeeese and crackers!
