Character breakfast

I am trying to decide which Breakfast to do the morning that we are leaving. It is a toss up between Goofy's Kitchen and Surf's up with Mickey and Friends. Any information will be great. We will be leaving on a Monday and we are staying at PPH.

We were there a few weeks ago and did both breakfasts. Personally the service at Goofy's was not very good. Slow to get drinks and had to complain about 2 employees having an argument that starting getting physical in the middle of the dining area. :scared1: The food itself was ok, the omelets were great. The scrambled eggs did not look appealing at all.

On another day I decided to surprise my DD with Surf's Up - the service there was so much better! Also the character interaction was great compared to what we received at Goofy's. :cool1: While they do not have as many food options as Goofy's, I would definitely go to Surf's Up again. Having Stitch there also helped immensely. Also didn't hurt that for my DDs birthday they brought the dessert and had Daisy come to help sing happy birthday.

Hope that helps.

I absolutely adore Goofy's Kitchen (breakfast, not dinner). The buffet is huge. There have been so few times over the years that I, personally, have had less than great service or food that was sub-par that I really can't even remember when they were, at least not the individual incidents. I think there are 'off days' like at any dining establishment. My overall experience with the GK character meal has been great.

Lately, there have been some not-so-great reviews of Goofy's on the DIS, but that happens for every DLR restaurant at times. Still, it's a lot of money to spend so you might not want to risk it.

If you really want to see Mickey at a character meal, the only place to find him will be at Surf's Up. I don't think Surf's Up is too much cheaper than Goofy's, so if having a variety of food is important I would go to Goofy's. I have read both good and bad reviews of Surf's Up, just as I have for all of the other character meals too.

Goofy's may have anywhere from 5 - 8 characters onsite (including one at the entrance), while Surf's Up generally has no more than 5, from the photos I have seen, and sometimes only 4.

Minnie & Friends in Disneyland has the most characters out of all the character meals at DLR - and it's cheaper (slightly) than Goofy's and Surf's Up, if I am not mistaken.

Sorry to hyjack your thread OP :goodvibes

I don't know exactly what time they will let you into DL to eat at Minnie & Friends, but as far as I know, yes, you can eat at M&F before the park opens by at least a small window of time. I'm not sure if they let you in one hour before opening or more/less than one hour, but you should be able to get in before park opening if you have a reservation.

I personally loved GK the two times I went and really liked the wide variety of food they served...the quality was great as well. They usually do a little dance with the kids, which seem to be a lot of fun and I always thought they had really great character interaction. I haven't been to Surf's Up yet but I definitely want to check it out sometime.

As Sherry E said, M&F have the most characters at any one time (usually at least 9) but I didn't like their food at all...think cafeteria style and the character interaction was horrible (a lot of characters seemed to skip our section and I've noticed that others have said the same as well).

PrincessMaleficent - will you guys have park tickets on your last day? If not, then your only options are GK, Surf's Up and the Critter Breakfast at Storytellers. Just a FYI in case you didn't know...
