Hi guys! We are heading out to Disneyland in April with my whole family - husband, kids, parents, sister and her husband and kids. We are so psyched!
Just curious if the breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen is much better/worse than PCH Grill. I am thinking they are comparable, but I'd love some expert opinions!

Thanks!

I was just about to ask the same question! Great minds!

I think both have a pretty set list of characters. I'd just choose the one with the characters you want to see.

GK is Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto.

I'm not certain of the current list at PCH but last I knew it was Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch and maybe Pluto? Not certain on that list.

Have done them both several times recently...here is my opinion:

PCH has smaller selection but better tasting food
Goofy's has a much bigger section, but much more bland taste to appeal to the masses.

Goofy's characters make the rounds on a pretty set path, make an appearance then are gone
PCH is much smaller so the characters get around more often and we always get MUCH more playful interaction at PCH.
PCH has photo op with Mickey, Goofy's has the photo op with...you guess it...Goofy.

We typically do PCH over Goofy's and that is where I will take new folks...but of you have already done PCH I would give Goofy's a try. Many love it.

We have done both breakfasts numerous times, but we gravitate more towards Goofy's. It may be the atmosphere, as Goofy's ambiance seems a bit more fun for us than PCH's (although PCH's beach atmosphere is fun too) and the DLH for us is leaps and bounds more attractive than PPH, or it may be the wider selection of food. We may, in fact, go there just for the PBJ pizza!!

The character interaction at both are great, once at GK after getting our photo taken, Goofy hopped in my mom's scooter and took off in it, waving at the people entering the restaurant! But, over at PCH we had an amazing dancing Stitch who saw my kid's shirt, which was a pug, and thought it was one of his relatives!

So, to answer your question, they are comparable - character interaction and food wise. I'd go to either tomorrow if I could!! You really cannot go wrong!!

Just to throw a wrench in the works...have you ever tried Storyteller's at GCH? The breakfast food is great and the character interaction is some of the best we've ever experienced!

That is interesting. For me Storyteller has the best quality food of all three...but smallest selection...and I go there quite often...but literally every time I am there I have the same thought..."Man, if I really cared about the characters at a character breakfast I would be TICKED! that I paid this much" as they were always few and far between on the interaction.

Just goes to show, there is not any one "right" answer as to which is "best"

Thanks everyone! My parents want the full experience for their grandkids so I think we are going to do Goofy's Kitchen for dinner then day we get there and PCH Grill for breakfast the morning we leave :)
Has anyone been to Goofy's for dinner? Do they have the peanut butter pizza? My son is super intrigued by that (also, don't tell me if it's gross - he won't care)

Thanks!

If they want the "full experience," have you considered Minnie and Friends at the Plaza? We've done this the last 2 years, and have seen 10 and 9 characters during the meal (respectively). In both instances, we've seen multiple characters more than. once in the appx hour-to1.5 hrs that we were there. Both years we did a pre-park opening breakfast (8:20 on a 9am open day, and 7:30 on an 8am open day).

I can't say enough about the character interaction there. It's always been amazing for us!

I would love to do that but I personally prefer not to do big sit-down meals on a park day because i hate missing time on rides and stuff. I would absolutely do a pre-opening breakfast but my sister and her kids are not notoriously early risers, so I don't think that would work for us. It sounds awesome though!

Oh I definitely get that. We're not early risers either (DD usually sleeps until 8:30 or 9am when left to her own schedule..and we're right there with her!). We found that the Plaza experience was worth the effort, though. So for one day, we force ourselves to get up for it. But, DD is pretty go with the flow..so once she's awake, she's not usually unhappy (even if we had to wake her)...that makes a difference. If she (or us) ended up grumpy all day because of getting up early, though, we'd forgo it.

I agree with not wanting to miss valuable park time first thing in the morning.
The CB at Plaza Inn is so PACKED with characters we find it well worth it.
So we don't miss too much of the early time in the park, we'll make a reservation around 10am or 10:30.

If you go to the Plaza Inn plan to be there about an hour to 1.5 hour to see all the characters.

We much prefer Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza Inn, to Goofy's Kitchen. It is our favorite DLR character meal because unless they change things (which they can do) you usually meet a ton of characters there and they are very playful and fun. We usually do it at around 10:15 or 10:30 as a brunch and get in some good morning lower crowd park time before the meal.

thanks guys! that sounds like a great character breakfast! i'll talk with everyone else and see what they think... my mom wanted to do meals on the days that we were not in the park to extend the magic, that's why i was looking at the other two initially...
i appreciate everyone's input!
