Hope this isn't silly... I'm planning my family's first trip to WDW! :yay:

During a character breakfast, will the kids get a chance to take photos with the characters?

Also, which breakfast is better as far as meeting princesses- Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall?

The characters each come around to your table( you do not get up to go to them). They will sign autographs and take pics and then move on.Both breakfasts are ok, I prefer Akershus for interaction with the princesses. They seemed to spend more time with us than at CRT

OMG !! You're not being silly at all ! You've come to the right place for Disney planning friends! :lovestruc Congrats on your first trip to Disney....you'll make memories that will last a lifetime.

As for the character meals, the characters go from table to table and interact w/ the kids, so yes, you can take their picture with any / all of the characters. We're going with our DD4 in Sept and I've got a character breakfast planned every morning so she can get the full Disney overload! :rotfl:

As for which of the 2 princess breakfasts are better, so far I've only been to Cinderella's castle. I've heard that Akershus is better though because the Princesses are less rushed and take more time with the kids. We're doing both when we go. Both restaurants offer a photo package as part of the total price, so at Cinderella's Castle you'll get a photo package w/ Cinderella and at Akershus you get a photo package with Belle (I believe). Akershus is also a little less pricey than the Castle and you get all the Princesses.

Have a wonderful trip and make some beautiful memories!!! :yay:

I totally agree. I've been to both, and the interaction is much, much better at Akershus. I think you'll be happy with your choice! Enjoy!:goodvibes

I;ve been to both and I prefer CRT for breakfast especially if you schedule breakfast before the park opens. I am a picture person so I really wanted pictures in front of the castle without a big crowd around. I also like the food better at CRT and it sit down vs buffet at the Norway princess breakfast. Cinderella is in the lobby of CRT and not in the dining area. When we went to Norway, it was Bella in the lobby area. Cinderella isn't at Norway at all.
Hope this helps. Either will be great!!!

I highly recommend a breakfast in the park before the park opens. We are going to Crystal Palace again this year before the park opens. (Pooh and Friends)
We are also doing Tusker House before AK opens. (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy)
It is so neat to walk down Main Street without a whole bunch of people around.

Oops sorry! Didn't realize there was one of those!

Thanks for the advice everyone. Think we'll go with Akershus. DD loves Belle!

With Akershus Belle won't come to the table (at least not at dinner). You only get your picture taken with her before you are seated. The other princesses will come by as you are at your table. We had Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Jasmine and Snow White.

We also did dinner at the Castle the night before where we had a picture with Cinderella. Then the princesses came to the table while we ate. Both were great meals but I think I liked Akershus more.

Wow, you are going to have such an AMAZING time!! :dance3:

This isn't a character BREAKFAST, but we love to have dinner at Chef Mickey's on our first night at the resort. It's tons of fun, and our munchkin gets to see the Fab 5 before we even hit the parks! The buffet is filling, but the main thing is you get to see Mickey on your first night.
Oh, and don't forget to get autograph books before you go (conveniently, if you don't have them already, there's a shop right across from Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary), or you can always save some and take a Disney storybook with character pictures - or make your own. Our son LOVED getting autographs from his favorites, and getting his pic taken with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy!
Have fun!
