We are arriving in Orlando the day before our cruise. We will be staying at POFQ and plan on hanging out at DTD for the day. The next morning I thought it would be fun to do a character breakfast before getting on the bus heading to the ship, but is there one available without having to pay admission to a park?

We did the Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club resort and it was great. The characters were Minnie, Goofy and Donald and they were dressed in beach gear. It was alot of fun, great variety of food and it was good. Service was great. I know 1900 Park Faire in the Grand Floridian hotel does a character breakfast as well as Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary and I think 'Ohanas in the Poly.

Have a great time and a great cruise! I'm jealous!

We LOVED Chef Mickey's breakfast in July! We went on our last morning of our WDW trip, just before hitting the road. The food was excellent. Many choices. There was everything from scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, corned beed hash, cute kids' selections like breakfast pizza with scrambled eggs on it and also PB & J breakfast pizza. There were fresh fruits, smoked salmon, bagels, and other nice adult-oriented offerings. And there was a HUGE dessert table! Delicious croissants, pastries, brownies, etc. We LOVED this breakfast! The characters are awesome too. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald! Can't beat it for the food and for the classic characters!! It's at the Conpemporary resort.

I also hear great things about Cape May Cafe. We are going to try that one on the last morning of our next trip since we will be staying at BWV from now on (DVC members). I am sure we will love it and it will probably become a tradition on every trip!

Another one we are going to try is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand FLoridian. Now this resort hotel is worth a visit too, since it is so beautiful. Funny thing is, the lobby kind of reminds me of a grand atrium on a cruise ship!! :rotfl2: We ate dinner there in July and it is nice. The breakfast has Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Tigger and Pooh. I hear the food is excellent and that they have an omelette station too!

Enjoy your cruise too!!!
