We just booked a spur of the moment trip for next weekend. I really wanted to do breakfast at Chef Mickeys but they are totally booked for our trip May 10-13. It's the only character meal we've been to previously. Is there another one that is just as good somewhere else? We have a three year old who's very excited to see Mickey Mouse in person.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I found Crystal Palace to be nice alternative but then you need park admission to MK (not sure if this would be an issue or not)

Some people have reported luck with booking a PS at the Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast and then trying to walk up to Chef Mickey's - i.e. guaranteed a breakfast at CS and one of the adults walks up to CM to see if a table is possible - this way if no table then your DD/DS does not get upset

Thanks

Ohana's is often easy to book and features Mickey Mouse.

Cape May is supposed to be even easier to book and has Mickey (IIRC, you should check cause I'm not sure).

I'd call and ask what is available for Character Meals at this late date and see what fits your needs best. You may have slim choices. Then, call the night before you go and see if anything has opened up.

Definitely Crystal Palace.... that's our all time favorite meal at WDW (closely followed by Chef Mickey's breakfast).

I could be wrong, but I think the only other place to see Mickey for a character breakfast is 'Ohana. Cape May is a great spot for breakfast but it only has Minnie, Goofy, and Chip & Dale. And unless they have changed it recently (which could be a possibility) Crystal Palace has the Winnie the Pooh characters. So, if he is set on seeing Mickey you might want to try 'Ohana's. You could also keep calling Chef Mickey's on the off chance that someone cancels.

I just looked at the list and Mickey is also at the character breakfast at the Animal Kingdom. We have not been there but I hear a lot of people really like it.

If you little one likes Mickey, might I suggest the character meal at 'Ohana? It is a bit more laid back, and the food there is delicious. It is also very convenient to the MK, and it is not as hard to get PS there.

You can try the Donald's breakfastsaurus in AK. Its Mickey, Goofey, Pluto and of course, the Donald. Good food and fun character interactions. We have gone to AK early and then to the breakfast at 10:30. Got to see so much before! we ate so much that we had no lunch but and earlier dinner and an afternoon snack. Its a great character experience.

If your son wants to see Mickey, another character meal is lunch/dinner at the Garden Grille in Epcot. Chip n Dale and Pluto are also at this one.

I think you should try making a PS for the character breakfast at 'Ohanas. I made one just the other day for Monday May 12, with no problem. And I know they had several other openings, so call soon if you decide to do it. I know they have Mickey and Chip and Dale there. I heard good things about the breakfast there, give it a try!

We will be there a short time next weekend as well, only the 11th and 12th. Hope you have a great trip!

Several people on this board (including myself) have reported several tables opening up at Chef Mickey's a few days before the date they needed. This was after previously being told that tables were either unavailable or very limited. Don't know if this is the case now or not. :D

We absolutely love Donald's Breakfastosaurus, it's a must-do for our family every trip. and Mickey is there!

We also really loved Donald's Breakfastosauras which has Mickey and the Great Donald who is not easy to find for autographs anywhere!:D :bounce:

Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies! I was able to get PS times at O'hanas and Breakfastasaurus, and made a lunch one at Crystal Palace! I'll try Chef Mickeys again a day or two before our trip to see if anything as opened up. I really appreciate all the great suggestions!

How about Donald's Restonasaurus at Animal Kingdom.
