Character Breakfast dilemma

I just need a little help deciding where to go for our Character Breakfast. We are a group of ten,( me, DH, DS7, DS6, Mom, Dad, sister and her DH, DS4 & DS18mnth). I am doing all the planning and reservations for the trip so...

Anyway, I am a Pooh fan and went to the Character breakfast at Crystal Palace on our honeymoon in '95. Love it!

In 2000, my DH and two small boys went back to the character breakfast at Crystal Palace and tried the AK breakfast (can't remember the name). This one was great too because it looked just like a camping lodge.

Here's my dilemma, my first inkling was to do the same two we did in 2000. But, now I am thinking about doing Chef Mickey's (read so much great stuff) and just keeping it to one character breakfast. We already have HDDR reservations and I want the boys to do the Pirate Cruise also.

As much as I'd love to do 2 breakfasts, I'm afraid I will be sticking us all to too much of a schedule with all the other reservations I've made.

Any ideas, comments, suggestions........ Please!
Thanks.

The breakfast in AK is Donald's Restarauntasarus and we really enjoyed it there but haven't been there recently. I think you will really like Chef Mickey's. My kids are a little older but we really had an awesome time there and the food was good. In fact, we just got back from WDW Friday. We were staying at WL and decided to take the boat over to the Contemporary and scoot to MK on the monorail. As we looked down over Chef Mickey's, they were doing the napkin waving and my Daughter and I were both sorry we didn't have PS for there and our trip was just about over. We've also done dinner but found it too be much too hectic and not as enjoyable. We've also done the Crystal Palace a couple of times and honestly, Chef Mickey's is our favorite with Donald's Rest. as a second choice. (I know people will shoot me with this one--I personally did not like CRT.)

disneyfanatic60,
Thanks for the help! I quess we can skip Crystal Palace this time, my kids don't watch Pooh anymore. I'm totally set to try Chef Mickey's but, will I regret not going to Donald's Restarauntasarus? decisions, decisions....

Well, we've not yet been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but we have been to Breakfastosaurus and were not that impressed. Sure, most of the breakfast buffets have similar offerings, but we were underwhelmed, and for us, it doesn't hold a candle to the wonderful breakfast buffet at the Crystal Palace. I'd try Chef Mickey's, which we plan to do in November. I've read lots of great reviews...:D

I would do Chef Mickey's rather than Donald's. We were at Donald's 2 weeks ago and there wasn't much character interaction. Each character only came to our table once and stayed for one picture each and that was it. The place is really big, so they have a lot of people to get to. I haven't been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but I have for dinner. The characters spent a lot more time with us and came around several times.

We did Breakfastasaurus last summer and have it booked again for this summer. We really like it. But, that being said...it is only 3 of us and dd is now almost 11. We find the Chef Mickey's breakfast has better character interaction and is overall more fun. I think the ages of the kids in your group would be great for Chef Mickey's.

We are big fans of Chef Mickeys...going back for our 5th time in July. We did Donalds once and didnt enjoy the experience at all. We found Chef Mickeys to be much less hectic and more relaxed.

We preferred CM's dinner to DB. Can't comment on CM breakfast, but we will do CM's again on our first night. Kids absolutely loved starting off the vacation with the napkin dance. On the other hand, none of us was inpressed with DB. In fact, after CM, we were a little disappointed. We wouldn't do it again.

Do Chef Mickey's on an EMH morning at the MK. Grab a quick bite in the room before EMH to hold you over, go to the MK and hit your favorites, then schedule a PS for breakfast for the last seating. If I recall, that is around 11:15 AM (?)- but you can double check that when you call. You will have the characters pretty much to yourself, and won't have to pay for lunch because you are eating so late. Hope this is helpful :)

Blessings,
