Character breakfast at Ohana

I have reservations at O'hana at the Polynesian Resort for the character breakfast at 7:30 am and then heading to MK. I had a few questions. Do you think we would be done by in time to make rope drop (there is no EMH that day).Also, we are staying at the All Star Music. What time would we have to leave our hotel in order to be there in time for our reservation? We will be using Disney transportation. Or would it be wiser to take a cab? If so, about how much would cab fare be from All Star Music to Polynesian Resort? Thanks!

We have gone from ASMu to Chef Mickey's for a 7.05 am Reservation. We were out waiting for the bus from the resort around 6.10 am and the bus arrived about 5 minutes later.

If you would rather not pay the cab fare you will have no trouble getting there in time with Disney transportation. Just be sure to be waiting for the bus early. They do run buses for these early ADRs but not as frequently as they do in regular hours so you don't want to miss a bus as it could be a good 20 - 30 minutes before the next one shows up.

Bus to MK, monorail to the Poly. We gave ourselves an hour to the Contemporary and were at the podium from our resort in 30 minutes.

If it is convenience you are after, a cab is going to be your best bet.

We did Ohana breakfast twice this year - once in January and once in February - both 7:30am ADRs. In January, we stayed at Poly (so no transportation issues) and were easily finished with our breakfast and met all the characters by 8:30am.

In February, we stayed at BC and took a taxi to Ohana - I'm really glad we did!! Our group was a little bigger in February (my parents were along for that trip.) The cab allowed everyone to sleep in a little more and get to the Poly without worrying about the timing. So instead of waiting for the bus at 6:30am, we just walked out and got a cab at 7am. I'm not sure about cab fare from your resort, but this fare calculator may help: http://www.mearstransportation.com/services/taxi-fare-estimator.asp. Our fare from BC was about $18 including tip. Even with our slightly larger group, we still finished breakfast, met the characters and hopped on the monorail in plenty of time for MK rope drop. We were early enough that we had time to get through the gates and take pictures before the rope drop opening ceremony started.

Thanks for this info. We have a 7am reservation at Chef Mickey's and are staying at POR. I was wondering how early the busses run and what time we'd need to be at the stop. I can't imagine being there around 6, so I think we'll take a taxi that morning.
