Character Breakfast at MK on 4th of July?

Does anyone know if the MK typically opens the park early on the 4th of July? The web shows a 9am open. I have a character breakfast scheduled at 8:20AM. I was hoping to get ahead of the crowds 'a bit' by doing this as I know it will be mayhem. I read that they sometimes open the parks early (not EMH) without notice to help with crowd management, which would set us back instead of help us. So I am trying to figure out if I should even do it or not. TIA for the help!

I'm no expert on this, so hopefully someone else will chime in. When you say MK character breakfast, do you mean Crystal Palace? If so, I don't think that will help you as everyone is allowed in as far as the hub now and disperse from there after the new RD show at the castle. Some people swear that booking at BoG gives them an advantage. Personally, I wouldn't like to pay that much for breakfast just to rush through it, but I think I'm in the minority on these boards.

I'm inclined to believe that on a holiday like the 4th of July, park hours will be extended(9-9 is ridiculous when you consider the crowds and events that day). Can't say for certain, and you may not know final hours until mid-way through June, which can suck in terms of planning. When I went for 4th of July, we made a lunch ADR around 3 to have an air conditioned respite in the hottest part of the day, then stayed to the fireworks, but everyone's needs and plans are different.
