This swap is for 8 by 8 pages that would be ready for use for character autographs. I am thinking that each page needs a spot for a 4 by 6 photo and a autograph - could be a tag, shaped item, box, anything a character could sign. It would also need a title, beyond that I would think 1 embelishment - could be a couple of flowers on Minnie's page, a fancy background paper, or whatever one would like.

What size groups do people like best. This is a list of the most common characters found. I grouped them by park unless they were in a few different parks. How would people want them grouped? I am planning on grouping them within parks in groups of 4-5 (unless most people would perfer them to be larger).

Do you want the "tag" that the character signs to be removable? Are we planning on bringing the whole book with us or do we want the ability to just bring the tags?

I like being grouped by park. That is how most of us got or will get the autographs & photos.

If the groups are too large, I know I won't be able to commit. :sad1: I like the groups of four and five, but I know some folks don't. So go with the majority. I'm good with sitting it out.

What do most people do- I have never done autographs myself- would we perfer the tags be unattached so we can just bring those to the park or do people want to bring the whole page to the park. When I use them I will have a stroller so I am not worried either way.

I am interested in this one. With doing the MAW swap ... it was 8x8 space will be tight if you want to add a title to the page along with the 4x6 photo and autograph area. May make the page to clutter.

Also like the idea of characters by parks, since when we return we may not go to every park.

I am sitting this one out as I still have the finishing touches on my 8x8 ABC albums and I think I would like to do the 12x12 ABC pages.

Nothing ever gets lost on this board! Below is a link to an 8x8 album I made in the fall of 2006 -- pre-cricut and pre-swaps! I brought the completed pages to the parks with me. I wanted 4x6 photomats, but they just didn't leave me enough room to work with, so I did photomats for 3.5 x 5. I think it looks good, but getting the photos printed was hard - -I found only one on-line place that did that size, the order didn't turn out well. THey had to re-do them and in the end I printed out many of them at home.

2 page layout is a nice idea, but if you meet a lot of characters like we do, it is way too many pages. I didn't do any hidden tags (I think) because DD likes to look at the autographs

I actually bought an 8X8 Disney book just for this swap (it was like 75% off, but I have one now). But it depends on group size (I prefer the smaller - 4), character grouping (whether I need everyone in that group), and layout, if I will sign up.

I have only scrapped 8x8 once, for MichellePooh's baby book, and it was hard to fit everything in. Although on her pages I made the tag hidden, I would think the Character pages would be better to have the tag present so you could see the autograph. Also, there is no way I would carry the book/pages with me to the park, so I would prefer the tags be removable - maybe even not attached to the page when sent, so the receiver can attach when signed - just leave space where it would obviously go.

Also, I wonder how most people's pictures are oriented? After receiving many photomats in the various swaps that have specific orientations, I now take pictures in both horizontal and vertical orientations so I can use some of those mats. But for the character pages, will there will be a required orientation?

Oh, and the most important question, when is sign ups? I could check the Calendar, but I am here and lazy. :lmao:

Sign-ups are on May 4th or 5th. The other day is the sign-ups for the 12 by 12 ABC book. Since I am doing both I can't remember which is which. I will open them between 7 and 8- when i get up.

I haven't really thought about photo orientation but I think I normally take photos vertically of character interactions- I can get a closer shot, as many of them don't necessarily have a background.

Would people like the requirements to be a photo mat, a tag (unattached but with space- people can attach them before or after they are signed), a small title (not the 8 by 2 topper but maybe a tag- just the name, something that signifies the character.

I was in another autograph book swap and we did a two page layout (8x8) one page for the autograph and one for the picture if the groups are going to be smaller this might be a good idea.
I like the idea of doing the books by parks.
I am interested in doing this one.

My kids no longer get autographs and Im lucky to get any photos with characters so I'll be sitting this one out too. But Im sure I'll be doing some scraplifting!:goodvibes

I'll be sitting this one out too. I just don't need autograph pages since we never get autographs anymore. Plus, with all the groups I was in on the Character swap, I've got tons of character stuff for pages!!!! I'll definitely be watching this swap though for ideas!!! Have fun everyone!

I will be starting sign-ups on Monday at about 11am- I have a vet appointment in town at 9:30am so when we get back from that.

I like the idea of an autograph book. This would also be my first one for myself. I think putting a small topper, photo mat & tag would be too cramped.
What if we made a mat, then a tag, & then somewhere on the tag (in a small font) with the name of the character. OR a word that pertains to that character on the tag, & then they just sign around it? I would prefer un-attached tags. Carrying the whole book around the park the entire day is too risky for me. I'm excited for this swap...

Oh, & I agree with making the photo mat smaller as well. You can ALWAYS crop a photo. Plus, there is always a lot of junk in the back ground of a photot that never looks good. Then we are stuck with having to put the whole photo on the mat so it fits.
I can't stand seeing junk in the background. I guess I noticed that more because I use to be a photographer.
