OK.. Dfiance and I decided a couple of days ago to change our wedding date from May 24 to July 26 (not set in stone but that's what we are shooting for) because of several technical difficulties ;) . Now the dilemma is we have our honeymoon (with my DD12 going also) set for May 27 - June 2. I went this time last year and while crowds weren't low, it wasn't bad I didn't think. Weather was nice, flower and garden festival, etc.

I just don't think I want to change our ressies and move them to the end of July where crowds will probably be unbearable as well as heat. Making ressies b/c we are on the DxDP would also be near impossible. So, what I'm thinking is that we keep our dates and still take our vacation when we planned and get married in July and well, we've already had our honeymoon vacation, just maybe take off for a couple of days by ourselves then.

I will hate having to call and tell the restaurants it's no longer a "honeymoon" trip, but I think I'm still going to keep some of the surprises I had planned. I have a diver planned at Coral Reef with a Congratulations sign for me and DFiance and I'm going to order a Congratulations cake for 1900 Park Fare on our dinner there one night. I don't think that will be too tacky, but getting the personalized menus may be too much since we won't be married yet. :-(

But I was soooooo looking forward to wearing Minnie Bride Ears. :lovestruc So am I overanalyzing this or just go ahead and have fun. I really wanted to be able to celebrate our honeymoon here, but I guess celebrating it a little in advance wouldn't be too bad would it? :confused3

hmmm...well..it does kind of take the "magic" out of the trip if its before you're married. Thats a hard call...personally, I would change the ressies to after the actual wedding..it would be worth all the hassle I think. And the parks/weather aren't too much different between those two date ranges. :)

I think that I would probably change my honeymoon to match with the wedding. But, you need to do what feels better for you and your family.

I don't see a problem with keeping your trip on the dates that YOU want, or, for that matter, treating it as a "honeymoon" and wearing the bride ears. Of course, you may get questions like "when did you get married?" which may be awkward, but people celebrate birthdays at Disney when it's not really their birthday, anniversaries when it's not really the date, etc.

BTW I agree with you that late May and end of July will be a LOT different as far as the heat is concerned - not sure about crowds because I haven't been at those times.
