Just an FYI. I had to change the dates on some tickets purchased from UT. I went on the Disney website and picked "Change dates." It looked like I'd be able to change the dates on the website - there was even a generic message that popped up saying, "If you bought your ticket from a travel agent, travel wholesaler or other non-Disney travel seller and you exchange or modify your ticket on this website, you may not be able to exchange, modify or conduct any other transactions with your ticket with your travel seller. Contact your travel seller for further details." I put in my payment information, but kept getting an error message.
I called Disney and learned that, for tickets bought from resellers, you have to go back to the reseller to change ticket dates. I called UT to change the dates. They have to do it all manually through Disney, so it'll be up to a week before the change is made. I'll be getting all new ticket numbers that I have to re-link in MDE. If I don't link the new tickets within 24 hours of getting them, there's a chance all of my FPs could be cancelled (because MDE will think I don't have valid tickets) (one ticket that I changed just had to be shifted back one day, so it already had FPs attached for most of the trip dates). Also, the price difference for the date change ended up being more than I expected; I'm pretty sure I lost at least some of the savings from booking with UT from the beginning. I had spent so much time on the phone and website at that point that I just let it go.
The woman from UT said that Disney was supposed to allow tickets from ticket resellers to be changed on MDE, but that didn't happen. In short, unless you are 100% positive of your dates, buying and changing ticket dates through a reseller can be a huge hassle!
