changing southwest flight

What is the best way to change your flight date with Southwest Airlines? I would like to change it from Friday departure to a Wednesday departure.

I believe there is no fee involved if you perform this action online, but I am not sure of the steps involved.

There are no fees no matter how you make the change.

Just go to southwest.com -- then "Travel Tools" -- then "Change Air Reservation". Just enter your confirmation number and passenger name. Your flight information will come up and then you can make changes.

True, there is no fee to make the change, but you do have to pay the difference in airfare. For instance, your flight on Friday was 49, but the flight on Wed is 69, you need to pay the 20 to make the change.

And the opposite is also true, if the new flight is less, they will give you a ticketless travel fund that you can use. That credit will be valid for 1 year from the date of original purchase, not change date, not flight date, the day you bought the original ticket.
