Hello

We currently have a DVC Hotel Room booked for our arrival day, then switching to a 2 Bedroom Island Garden View DVC for 8 Nights. This split stay fit our points availability (2 Years worth of Points)

Any Tips that we may need to know?

Will they hold our Cold Items for Us? We will probably leave our bags with bell services for the switch

We will be renting a car for our stay

We will probably check out as close to 11 as possible and then eat lunch and chill at the pool or ocean until our 2 Bedroom is ready.

This will be our 1st ever trip to Hawaii...we were supposed to go in July 2020 but COVID shutdown cancelled that

Also, where are the DVC Hotel Rooms located?

Any help is greatly appreciatted

Have them make a note on your first reservation that you're continuing in a different room on the second reservation. Then tell them again when you check in for the first reservation.

As soon as you wake up in the morning on the second day, go down to the front desk and tell them you're ready to "check in" to the second room. Don't wait until 11. They're not going to kick you out of the first room unless the resort is completely full.

Since you won't have a proper fridge in the first room anyways, I would just wait a day and do your grocery shopping the second day rather than worrying about refrigerating things in between.

The dvc hotel category rooms are all located together. 5th floor in the building closest to parking garage Waianae side of resort. Very convenient for parking. I 2nd suggestion to go to front desk as early as possible and see if they have something available. But I’d also be prepared for the 2nd room not being ready till 4pm or later. We cobbled a last min stay together and had many room changes. Never once did we get an early check in. We were thankful for a 4 pm and often had even later. They were also very strict about the check out times. At least they’ll be able to give u the parking pass for new room and u never know- you might get lucky with the room ready. I’d also let them know about the change when u check into the first room. They might be able to get 2nd room closer.

Have you considered reserving a cabana for the day? We did this once when we got to the hotel really early on check in day. It was definitely a splurge, but so nice to have our own comfy space while waiting for the room to be ready.
