Changing room reservation after getting moonlight magic tickets?

I have looked up this question and the latest answer I can find is about 2-3 years ago, so i am wondering if anything has changed recently. I successfully got moonlight magic tickets at typhoon lagoon with our stay at Poly Tower in May. Now we are thinking about changing to a two-bedroom villa from a one-bedroom. I see some rooms available (not Poly Tower ). Would I lose moonlight magic tickets if I modify the reservation to a different room? I really want to stay at Poly Tower and go to the moonlight magic event as it will be our first time. If there is any possibility that changing the room will affect this, I might just stick to the plan. Thanks!

As long as you modify (as opposed to cancel and rebook), you'll keep the same reservation confirmation number, and there won't be any problems.

Thank you! Now I have another question. What if I have a waitlist to replace this room? I think it counts as canceling if the waitlist goes through? Then I would lose the moonlight magic tickets?

No, if the WL comes through it will be processed as a modification, and you should keep your MM tickets.

I had a room that I changed and got filled via waitlist and it was fine. I even checked with MS and have the email from them fhat it doesn’t impact tickets.
