Changing Resorts with Park Reservations

Has anyone changed resorts after making theme park reservations? I made theme park reservations a few weeks ago since I had an existing reservation at CBR that I made in February for our upcoming August trip. However I found a great price on rented DVC points so I’m going to cancel my CBR ressie for the CCV ressie bit I’m worried what will happen to the theme park reservations. I was told through the chat on the WDW website that I could cancel and as long as I attached the new reservation in 48 hours I wouldn’t lose the park reservations, but they told me to call to cancel and make the change. I called tonight and the person I spoke with in hotel reservations told me the park reservations would be cancelled as soon as I cancel the CBR reservation. Has anyone successfully changed their resort reservation and not lost their park reservation? If so, how do I do it? TYIA

From what I can see, every day in August still has availability at all 4 parks so even if your reservations are cancelled, you could just make new ones. Is there something I’m missing?

yes I did. after I had my park reservations set for mid Nov, I switched from ASMusic to Pop and everything shifted with me.

I have changed my reservation several times and my park reservations have remained

I canceled 2 trips and my park res stayed after a week so I went ahead and canceled them.

I assumed they would cancel in their own but nope I had to do it.

Thank you all. My concern is that I have to cancel, not modify. But it sounds like even if they disappear I have a good chance at rebooking. I will update after with the results.

I did exactly what you are doing last week. I booked Pop and then decided to rent points at SSR. The owner I rented points from booked the reservation for us and linked it to my MDE account and then I went in and canceled my Pop reservation. It didn’t effect my park reservations at all.

I didn’t think to add the new reservation then cancel the old one. I did that and my park reservations are still there. Thank you all for your advice.

Hi! I'm actually having the same issue but the difference is that we decided not to renew our annual passes so we bought a vacation package with tickets for a February 2021 trip. If we decide to go with the DVC rental, will we lose our tickets and park reservations? I would think yes but just want to know if anyone knows for sure? We are going during February break for most people so a bit scared that we won't be able to get our reservations again.

No package then no tickets as they are part of the package. Just add tickets and link a DVC reservation and then drop your original package. Simple.

I cancelled a reservation over a month ago for November and I still have all my park pass days for that time. And yes I am over my allotment based on a September trip so I should need that hotel reservation to book those days.

Booked and added a Yacht Club PH discount stay before I cancelled my Dolphin stay at the same time. My park reservations are still there (but so is the Dolphin stay, so I'm assuming that'll fall off eventually).

This thread was definitely reassuring, though - thanks for sharing your experiences!
