I exchanged through RCI for 2 weeks in June 06. I was unable to get the same resort for both weeks and I am going to have to move after the first week. We are staying at The Fountains the first week and HGVC Seaworld the second week. My husband is not very happy about having to move but it was the only way. I was wondering how other people have handled this situation. What did you plan to do on the "move day". We plan to eat many of our meals at our resort to save money and I am wondering what I am going to do with all the extra food. Does HGVC allow guest to use the resort before they are actually checked in? How much of a pain is it doing it this way?? Any suggestions and answers would be greatly appreciated!

we feel like we get "more" vacations!! :goodvibes

Your resorts should have a cold storage option with Bell Services...just give them a call and ask:)

So when you check out of one resort, pack up your fridge items in separate bags, mark them as "COLD STORAGE" and you're all set.

The other option, if they don't have cold storage.is pick up one, or two, of those cheap styrofoam coolers, pack your cold items in that. Add a little ice, or frozen things, and you should be fine:)

HTH!! and enjoy your moving adventure!!

get up early on check in day - then go check in at HGVC.

If your room is ready then you check in. If not go back to the Fountains and stay there until check out time.

then take your groceries to the HGVC and ask to store them. If they say impossible (I really don't think this is going to happen) then go to the Publix and get those cheap container and store your frozen and refrigerator foods in these with ice.

then you can look around HGVC, go to a theme park - SW is across the street, or go to an outlet mall. then go back to HGVC around 3pm (yes I know check in time is 4pm) - and get in line. you might get lucky and get your room. Don't plan on getting there at 4pm - the line will be almost out the door.

We are doing it also, but we kind of like it that way. We get to try two resorts instead of one!

We will try to check in early at CPGV but I'm really not expecting to be able to get in. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

We are driving down to Orlando so we already have a cooler. We plan on putting our "leftovers" (and ya know, ketchup and stuff) into our cooler and going to Sweet Tomatoes for a late lunch. If we get in early to the next resort, we can hit a park or something for a couple of hours.

Then right after we check into our new place, we will grocery shop for the next week. And this way, we are food shopping with somewhat full stomachs and won't go crazy at the grocery store.

I'll make something easy for dinner in the condo (for instance, Stouffer's Mac and Cheese, salad, bread) and then we can go off to a park or shop.......whatever we want to do.

Even if you stay at the same resort for the two weeks, I have been in line with people who have had to check out at 10 am only to recheck into another unit at the same resort. Reason is that possible the owners are coming in for one of those weeks and they want their own unit.
