I've read lots of trip reports where people have stayed in more than one resort and for our next visit I'm thinking of doing 3 nights at the BC and then 3 at WL . We won't have a car and my question is will Disney transfer our luggage between resorts or do we have to sort this out ourselves. Any help gratefully received

Disney will transfer your luggage for you. When you are ready to leave your first resort, you call the bell services, they come get your luggage, label it for your next resort, then you are reunited with your luggage usually anywhere from 2-4pm at the new resort. I don't really unpack when we go to our hotel rooms so it's not difficult for us to do and we like the change of scenery--makes us feel like two or three vacations in one. :wizard:

Thank you Ladyhawke i hoped this would be the answer, sounds like it couldn't be easier!!

Last July we spent 4 nights at WL and then moved to BC for the last 4 nights.
Everything went quite smoothly and it was fun to experience two resorts! They transferred our luggage and it was in our room waiting for us. Note: You may get to your resort before your luggage does so plan accordingly. I think we were able to keep the same room keys.

Now you've got me thinking about doing the same this year. Hmmm.....maybe the Poly for the last 2 nights....

DS & I will be doing 3 resorts in Aug
After 5 nights we're switching to WL, after 3 nights there we're switching to BCV for the last 6 nights

I will be staying at two resorts on my next trip. . .look for my trip reports upon return to see how it all goes. This is a first for us.

5 nights at VWL and 5 nights at BCV

Keep your swimming suits with you. Just a word to help you out.

This will be our first time doing a planned split stay. In December we just decided we'd rather be somewhere else and switched and it went just fine.

In September we came in a day early because of the hurricane. We couldn't get into the Poly a day early so we stayed at ASMO the first night. I packed a bag just for that one night and had them put our other luggage in storage. At 6am we transferred to the Poly with no problem.

I usually switch resorts every trip, it is a nice vacation within a vacation. Of course we are no longer traveling with small children! We really look forward to the switch; we get to experience a different resort atmosphere. I have a hard enough time narrowing my choices down to TWO, if I had to pick just one resort I'd probably drive myself nuts!

We have never had a problem with Disney moving our luggage, but you do have to deal with the hassle of checking in at the second resort. Depending on your luck it could be relatively quick, but might be more time-consuming than you'd like.

I was just going to ask the same question! I'm relieved to know that I won't have to hassle with switching my luggage to another resort during our stay. Thanks for asking!
