Hi all: For our next trip we will be staying at AKL for the first night and then switching the next day to VWL. My question is this - if we are going to MK early the next day (check in day for WL) but all ready have our park tickets and are checking in later in the day, can we park at WL and use the boat? Or do I have to go to the front desk first to pre-check in so that I can get a parking pass since the pass we will have will be for AK. I hate to waste the time but I don't want to park where I might be considered doing something wrong. I have never switched resorts during our stays and I'm trying to figure this out. Maybe checking in at 8:00 am is the better idea??? What do you think?

We've done something similar to what you're doing - moved from BWV to AKL. We checked out of BWV early in the morning then went directly to AKL and checked in. They stored our luggage for us, since obviously the room wasn't ready yet, and we went on off to the parks via bus, leaving our car in the AKL lot.

So I would say, drive over to WL, check in and get your parking pass (and drop off your luggage), then take the boat to MK.

When I stayed at VWL in March, the guard at the gate gave us the parking permit instead of the front desk.

I agree with pulling up to valet (it free except for a tip), storing your bags and checking in. Shouldn't take but a few minutes and you can skip it if they're busy. We checked in early at BCV in Jan, got room keys for a yet to be assigned room and a number to call later. We called and was given the room number and went right to our room where we called bell service.
