changing resorts after codes come out & after ME reserved?

So its actually best to wait till after the next set of codes come out (Im hoping for Aug codes) to reserve Magical Express for August? instead of alerting them ahead of time?
When codes come out ppl change resorts - I know ME can be reserved 10days ahead

I was booked at BCV, ending with two nights at AllStarMovies. I booked ME through MS at DVC. Well, when the AP rates came out, I moved from AllStars to POR. I called MS and they had no problem changing my ME departure from Movies to POR. They did tell me that I couldn't do it after about the 21 day mark since that's when the luggage tags and info packet go out.
