I currently have a 4 night reservation at a deluxe location. If I change my reservation to a discount location, I can add 2 more nights AND save $600.

1. Would you do this?
2. How difficult is it to change the reservation? I have paid only the deposit. Final payment is due in May. Would my deposit be moved over to the new ressi?

Well that depends on the resort that you are giving up and what you are moving to and how many times a year you go to WDW

For us we have APs and are lucky enough to live close by so no I would not give up a deluxe.

It should be easy to do, just call the reservation like and tell them you want to change your reservation..they will apply your payment to the new reservation

Since we live in TN, we don't get to go often at all. In fact, this is our first trip since 2000. We want to be able to spend as much time as possible at the parks, and not feel rushed. I just called DH at work and he said make the switch. Hey, it's just a bed, and we won't be in the room too much anyway.

I called WDW and made the switch. I think we'll be glad we did.

I am glad you asked & I am wondering the answer to this question. We have our reservation booked for December for AKL & I was thinking of changing to All Star Music. We usually stay at the values but thought we would try the deluxe. I am thinking now if I change to a value, we will save almost 1000.00 but do you have to pay any penalty going from deluxe to value?

I believe as long as you do any changes before the 45 days out no penalty. Sometimes after the 45 days & you wanted to go back to a deluxe & more they will let you without charging anything, I did this 35 days out changing to a club level at the BWI & I wasn't charged anything. As CM said you are upgrading :goodvibes

Not sure if this help but what I have experiences in all my stays.;) But haven't made but one changed after the 45 day mark ;)

Yes, you change your reservation to a lesser amount for no charge until 45 days before your check-in. After that, it is a $50 fee if your price goes down due to the change. I just tried to drop my dining plan, but I'm leaving in almost 2 weeks (YAY!:) ) and I didn't see the point if I had to pay.

I think you will be happy with the meal plan :goodvibes Like you said after 45 days a penalty if go down but will let you upgrade especially if it means more money for Disney :rotfl: Have a great trip:banana:

Thank you! I am going to try to take full advantage on the DP. I have made 4 character meal reservations so far. :thumbsup2

I didn't have to pay anything. I just called and the CM switched the hotels, and applied what I had already paid to the new balance. We were able to lengthen our trip and save $$$. Since we don't plan to be in the room a whole lot, I just can't justify paying more and getting a shorter vacation. I think we'll be happy we made the change.
