We have a reservation at All Star Sports for 9/14-9/20 that includes the free dining. If I wanted to change the reservation to arrive on 9/13, would this cancel my free dining package? Or would I just not get free dining for the 13th since I am booking that day after the promotion ended?

You can't get free dining for that date since it's passed June 22nd. You could always add on a room only reservation to the front of your package if it's available!

Call CRO and ask to speak to Guest Services. They should be able to modify your existing reservation to include the extra day, as long as there is availability there, even though the free dining booking period has ended. If there is no availability for the free dining room, book a room-only reservation for the same hotel and have the reservations linked and have it noted that you'd prefer not to change rooms. You'd have to check out and check back in on the 14th, but can do it as early as 6 or 7 AM. Most of the time they let you stay in the same room.

Thanks everyone! Now I have to make sure I can change my flight too. And convince the BF that we need to add one more day! pirate:

Call, I changed resorts today but kept same dates. Guest services did have to make changes but it is worth a shot:thumbsup2

Hi! :goodvibes Last year we called (2 different times) and added a day to our trip (2 total) and were given the DDP even for those days! Call and see, I am sure they will help!

Did you have the free dining promo and they still switched your resort? Wow I did not think that was possible since the promo has ended, Lucky you I would love to try to upgrade resorts:)

I called today and was told that making any change in my reservation would mean losing the Free Dining promo since the offer period has ended :sad2: So, I just ended up making a separate reservation for one night and having them linked. At least I'm getting one more day of Disney which is all I really wanted; I can pay for my own food for one day!

To make any changes to any promo (including free dining, codes, ect) after it has expired you need to ask to speak to guest relations. The cm's that answer the phone at central reservations can NOT make changes, but those at guest relations can IF there is availability. I have made changes this way myself, so I know it is possible!!

I called CRO and asked to speak to Guest Relations (Resort/FD change) and the CRO CM said I was not allowed to speak to them.
Is this right???:confused3

The CRO CM said I needed to tell her what I needed and she would mediate by placing me on hold. Long story short the resort I wanted was not available and it was a huge hassle. :headache:

I just called because I might have to drop my DH from my ressie as he just got a new job... and I cant do connecting rooms at POP with 4 kids (no adult for 2nd room). I am able to change it to POR no problem and keep my free dining too!

I experienced the same thing. I asked to speak to Guest Relations as soon as someone answered and they asked if it was about a past visit. I said no, it was regarding a future visit and that I wanted to change my arrival date for a booking that had free dining.. The CM then said I needed to explain the issue to her so she could relay it to Guest Services The CM was very nice so I didn't make an issue of it. She put me on hold and it ended up that there were no free dining rooms on the new arrival date I wanted (I wasn't suprised).

Hmmm....when I called I did explain it to the CM that answered and they switched me over to guest relations without a problem. I'm sorry there is no availability for your dates and sorry it seemed liked a hassle. I had no problems and thought it was that easy for everyone, I guess I got lucky!

Guest services does not need to be involved and they have no say over availability either. The CM has the ability to check for any changes whether its resortwise or datewise. If its not available then its not available. Getting guest services involved wont do anything. They cant make an expired code work for dates that arent available in the first place.

Well, guest services has helped me in the past when CRO CM's have failed. Just my experience. Also, I did state in my previous post that guest services can only help IF the dates are available. (the key word being IF)

My experience 2 years ago during free dining was that they let me change dates and add a day to the end of our reservation after the promotion ended, but they wouldn't let me add a day to the beginning because it would constitute a whole new reservation. We ended up adding the night anyway, but had to completely check out and check back in - kind of a pain.

Its because most CM's think you cant modify anything after the promo has ended. if you get one of them then yes, go to guest services, but theyre not needed.
