I currently have a room/ticket package booked from 8/29-9/2 with a 5-day Park Hopper at the YC.
Due to a schedule change, I now need to adjust my vacation to 8/27-9/1.

My original reservation is booked with a special package discount (Sun & Fun, I think) and I cannot add days to my current reservation without drastically affecting the package price. I called and they said that I'd basically have to cancel the current reservation and re-book at standard rates. So here is what I am thinking may be my best option:

Book a Split Stay by:
* Adding a room-only reservation for 8/27-8/29 at another Disney resort (still undecided).
* Adjusting my current reservation at YC from 8/29-9/2 to 8/29-9/1.
* Cancelling my 5-day park hopper tickets on my existing package, making it a room only reservation too.
* Buying 6-day park hopper tickets through Undercover Tourist which would cover me from 8/27-9/1.

Would doing this allow me to book FP starting on 8/27 & also save me some money on my park tickets?
Am I missing something? Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for your help.
Chris.

When you call WDW regarding the YC reservation, you may need to get Guest Services involved to see if they will let you remove the tickets and change your dates and still retain the Sun & Fun discount.

That’s what I was going to say as well. Call and ask for guest services. They have the power to adjust reservations that the regular call center people don’t.

Yes for 60 days prior to 8/27 for FPs for all park days.

Can we talk about this? I am staying 1 night 8/6 at Pop Century and then 4 nights BWV (8/7-8/11). When I asked this same question on these boards, I received the answer that on 6/7 I can book up to 8/7 FP+, and then on 6/8 the rest will open up. Which is it? Treated as 2 separate reservations, or one long continuous one? I’m so confused.

If you asked about a week ago, then the answer you were given was correct at the time. Things have changed back to relatively normal.

Wow, thanks everyone for writing back. Thrilled to hear they changed the policy back, I had no idea there were even ever any policy changes! You guys are the bes!
