Changing reservation after Pin code expired?

I originally booked the week after Thanksgiving with a 40% pin code. The pin code had an expiration date of late March for booking.

I need to change to the week before Thanksgiving. The dates in question are covered on the brochure for the original 40% pin code dates.

Has anyone been successful in changing dates with a pin code even after the expiration date for booking??? I'm not changing the resort or downgrading, just want to change dates.

I get conflicting stories from CMs in this regard. Just make sure you state you want the same, expired deal. Now, whether the rates are identical for the different days that's another aspect. Also, make sure the CM revises the existing reservation and not cancel it and try to start brand new. I think the problem may be the training of each CM and their capabilities in this regard. Also, there seems to be problems with a code that has expired. I'll try to explain it, here.

The problem it seems is that if the code is expired the CMs can not call the promo onto to their screens anymore. It's like it's null and void when the code expires.

If they can get the code to appear your new dates may be gone/ all used up. You have to remember that there is a limited amount of deals out there for any promo. Your new dates may not have anymore openings even is they try to change the dates.

You may have to consider a different, unexpired deal/promo and see how it compares for your new dates.

Yes you can but just because it shows available on the website doesnt mean its available with the pincode. If its expired the CM will likely have to get GS involved but it can be done. Call asap to find out....

Good luck!!!
I tried to change resorts for the exact same week I was planning to go but was told I could not because my pin had expired!!! I was told by multiple CM's, but I wish the best of luck to you!!!:cool1:

I don't see why they can't. Regular CM's cannot do it, they have to contact Guest Services to have it modified. I know they do it with expired FD code's and did it for me last year...I switched resorts and added on 2 extra guest's to ressie (stayed in our room) WAY after the code expired. Keep calling back until you get someone who can help.

I think it completely depends on the CMs training/ability/knowledge/willingness (or some combination there of) and if there is any availability for your code during those dates. I hear a lot of "I was told it can't be done" and also quite a few "I've done it!" answers.
I've even done it with an expired bounceback code.

Your best bet is to call and check. If they say no, get a reason. If it's there is no availability left, then you're probably out of luck. It the reason is because the code is expired, just thank them, hang up, call back and try with another CM--you *might* get a different answer.

It might not help, but it never hurts to ask.

I did it. I made a resort change using a 40% off code after the PIN expired. I spoke with a very nice CM:)...I am sure it was based on availability...but they happened to have a room available and I had no problems at all. :)

I just did this for DS last week. I changed him from the Poly to POR on an expired bounceback offer. However, I had to tell the CM to call guest services when she told me the code had expired. She told me I was right, that she cannot change expired offers, and said I must have done this before, which I have. DS really wanted CSR or CBR but could not get either, but we were able to get POR with the FD. When they tell you that they cannot change the reservation because the PIN is expired, then tell them to call guest services as they must get involved to change expired offers. Some CMs either aren't aware of this or they don't think of it.

I know Guest Services will do it for a change in resorts if they have availability, but whether they will move your dates, I'm not sure as I haven't done this before.

Now after all this DS is thinking of moving to AKL!!
