changing planes in Toronto

Could anyone update me of the procedure to follow when changing planes in Toronto? We're flying in from Halifax, landing at terminal 1. We then have to make our way to terminal 2, go threw customs, then get to our gate. My question: do we collect our checked in luggage in terminal 1, bring them with us to terminal 2? Or, do they transfer our luggage? THANKS for any information!!!

You have to collect your luggage and take it through customs, then recheck your luggage. They don't transfer for you.
