Changing pick up time with Alamo

Thanks to all the great advice on this forum, I locked in our Alamo rental at a great rate ($85 for 8 days in a full size next week). Now, our flights have been changed. We arrive about 3 hours later than expected before.

Do you think we need to worry about arriving a bit later? If I change the reservation to reflect the new time, will I have to take the current, much more expensive rates?

There should not be a problem with you arriving later than you booked. If you have any worries, call Alamo,1-800-555-5555

and see if they can change it on the system without you getting charged more. If you do it on their site, there is a good chance your rate will change. You can try it and see, just go to modify and see what happens, if you don't like it, just keep the original reservation.

I had to call the Alamo at MCO office last week when my original flight there was cancelled by Southwest. I arrived 2.5 hours later than when I booked to pick up the car. I checked online to modify my pick up time but the quoted rate was $30 more than the original. They informed me that they hold all reservations for 24 hours and it will not affect the quoted rate. When I returned the car at the time I entered at booking my receipt showed the original quoted price.
