My dh and I booked a cruise for December. He may not be able to go but I still plan to travel. Can I get someone to go in his stead? When do I need to notify DCL by, at the latest?

It depends on who is listed as the first person on the reservation.
If DH is the first person, then you will have to cancel the current reservation and rebook.
If you are the first person on the reservation, then you can just change out the person's name on the reservation. This will need to be done at least three (3) days before the cruise, so that security screenings can be done.

Maybe it is different if you book with DVC. I called and they said it doesn't matter as long as one person is remaining on the reservation, doesn't matter who.

Yes. Time was the first name on the reservation had to remain the same, and you could change all other names. That's changed. As long as at least one of the names from the original reservation remains on the reservation, you can change all the others, regardless of who's listed first.

There may also be a name change charge, if you change the name after the Paid in Full date.

I believe the name change fee is $50.

Don't say you want to cancel your husband....say you want to do a name change. You don't want to cancel the whole reservation because then any new people would have to pay the current price and not the price at time of booking.
