Changing part of a reservation at 7 months.........help needed!!

Hi guys,

Currently we have 14 nights booked at the Boardwalk.....my 7 month window is coming up and I would like to change the first 7 days to BLT.

If I go on line to modify the reservation will it cancel the whole of my 14 day stay and replace it with just 7 days at BLT or will it just replace the first 7 nights and leave the remaining 7?!!

Really don't want to inadvertently lose the second week at the Boardwalk!

You cannot modify the BWV 14-day reservation online into 7 at BLT and keep the remaining 7 at BWV. You can drop the first 7 nights at BWV to free up the points and then use those points to book BLT.

It might be possible to have MS handle the change if you call them.

Oh I see. So I could go on line and modify the Boardwalk reservation to 7 nights first to free up the points. And then make a new reservation for those dates for BLT. Is that correct?

Yes. That’s how you would have to handle it online. But you could end up with nothing for those 7 nights if you cancel the first 7 BWV nights and the BLT nights get booked up in the meantime.

In the future, if you anticipate doing a split stay, it would be better to book your home resort in 2 segments at 11 months. Then you can just modify one of those segments at 7 months online without worrying about losing any nights.

If you call, they will be able to do it for you, but can’t do it online.

Now, if you are worried about it, instead of canceling all 7, you could cancel just the first few to free up points. Get those booked, and then cancel the rest and modify BLT to finish up.

It’s a little more work, but does at least ensure that you snag the first few nights

If you have a few extra points, and the BWV room is still available, you could double book those first few nights now as a new reservation, then drop them from the original so you can just modify those nights at 7 months online as well.

Call about this. I did this yesterday trying to split a stay. I have an 8 day VGF stay that I wanted to make 4 at poly, 4 at VGF.
I would have to have the first 4 days at VGF dropped, then the room at poly booked (to free up points). And on 2 of those nights, there was only 1 room at poly available, so I could lose the first 4 nights altogether.
CM said if there was 2 or more rooms available for all four days she would go for it, but with only 1....ut uh. I agreed

If only I had had 7 month SAPs!
