Changing package into annual pass

We stayed at WDW in April and had 7 day park hopper passes. We now need to travel to Florida in July for a wedding and decided to spend 3 days at WDW. I've already booked a non-park hopper 3 day stay at All Sports, but was wondering whether I could change it.

I would like to upgrade to an annual pass and use the passholder discount toward the room. Can I do this and apply what I paid for the 7 day tickets in April? I called the WDW Travel Co. and they told me to see guest relations after I arrive in July. That will be too late to apply the discount to our rooms. Any suggestions? Is there a number I can call to discuss an upgrade?

I can't say for sure but I would imagine you can not apply the already used tickets to a annual pass. I know this can be done if done during the time you are using those tickets. Example...you are there in April and use 2 of the 7 days but you decided you want an annual pass you then can apply the 5 unused days to the cost of an annual pass. But I would imagine you would not be able to post date an annual pass to April using the already used ticket cost. (I sure hope that make sense :) )

To get an official answer you might try emailing customer relations. I don’t know the email address off the top of my head but im sure you can find it on Disney's site or someone here might know it.

As for AP rates none are being offered as of yet. Although I sure hope they come out soon.

Thanks. I was afraid that I couldn't use the April days toward the purchase of an annual pass. I didn't think we would be going back this summer, but we enjoyed our time there in April so much that the family unanimously voted to go back to WDW for a few days.

You could probably apply the cost of the unused days to an annual pass....but not the days you have already used.

You do not need to be a passholder to book the passholder rate....but you have to be one by the time you check in or you will be charged the rack rate.

I am assuming you used all 7 days on your last visit since you are buying more tickets for the upcoming trip.

I am sure you are out of luck on wanting to deduct that amount towards an AP.
IF you have days left over on the 7 days tickets, and IF they are non-expiring, my understanding is then you could apply the remaining days towards an AP.

Otherwise, you used the 7 day tickets, and non-expiring MYW tickets expire 14 days after the first use.

I think WDTC just did not want to disappoint you or say no, so told you to ask Guest Relations when you arrive. Things do change. But I would not expect it to for your trip.

I was in a similar situation last January. I had 3 days left on a 7 day hopper. I was going to be in Disney for another 6 days in January and was returning in October. I was told that I could apply the full amount of the 7 day pass but it would be valid from when the pass was activated(the previous March). I told them that wouldn't help me since I was coming back in October. They gave me full credit for my 7 day hopper and upgraded me to an annual pass. It all comes down to who you talk to and HOW you talk to them.

Well, just a note..

There isn't an AP discount on the room in July yet.

Also, I don't think you are suppose to be able to show up at Disney six months after you use a ticket and get credit for past use. Famecity got someone who broke the rules for them... don't plan on that happening often.
