Changing names for future cruise

Question as I start to face the reality that my 12-night Med is likely not happening this summer. I’m waiting for final Disney decision but I like to think through options.

I have two rooms booked - one a verandah for my family of 4, which is $$$, and would more than cover even concierge on most Caribbean cruises. A second for my parents and inside room.
Hypothetically, could I take the refund on my family’s verandah and take future cruise credit + switch my parent’s reservation to one for my family? That amount is closer to what we’d likely need for a replacement Caribbean cruise.
I guess what I’m asking is if names can be changed in future cruise credit? I haven’t seen that asked.

this is me assuming my parents won’t want to cruise to Caribbean and that we’re keeping our Hawaii 2021 plans instead of delaying.
Thanks

When I was rebooking my cancelled March 16 cruise, the agent made it clear that the credit offered (125%) was given to each person on the original reservation, and that only the original cruisers would get the credit. So, my husband and I each had 125% credit to use on the cruise we booked to take place of the cancelled one. We added our three children to the new booking, and were told that was fine because the new cruise cost for my husband and I used up all the credit we had been offered (we jumped from a 4 day to a 6 day). Any credit we had been offered that was more than the cost of our new booking could NOT be used towards other people sailing.

Thank you! I thought that would be the case but wanted to confirm.

switch my parent’s reservation to one for my family?
No, I don't believe they will allow your parents' reservation to be switched to your family, regardless of who may have originally paid. You should be able to use your family's credit on a different cruise than your parents' use their credit, but the credit for your parents' stateroom belongs to the specific passengers booked into that stateroom.

Enjoy your cruise!

I'm assuming that if the new cruise fare for you and your husband had not used up all of the credit, then you still could have used the credit on gratuities or other onboard credit for the two of you?
