Changing my touring strategy hours before FP+ selection

Almost pulled the biggest brain cramp ever as for months I have been counting my 60 days from our first MK day instead of our arrival date. Wow, would that have stunk.

Anyway my plan all along has been. Rope Drop, ride standby till early lunch (11:30ish). Head back to the hotel for rest/pool. Back to the park for FoF, then use 3 FP+ and a few standbys till Wishes with a TS dinner in there somewhere.

Upon further review, I don't think my kid will get that much out of FoF as he isn't familiar with most of the characters. So now I'm thinking RD, Standby till 11, FP+ in the 11-12-1pm hour with a CS meal in between two. Then try to secure a FP for the evening and back to hotel around 1:30 for pool/rest for a longer period of time, returning to the parks for dinner around 5:30, one FP ride and some standbys till Wishes.

This is my first FP+ experience, so to any vets out there was wondering which strategy they like more? Traveling in the last week of Aug with a 3yo DS 68yo Parents and my DW (Who'd kill me if I revealed her age on a public forum :rotfl2: )

I would personally choose your second strategy. August is crazy hot and rope drop to 3pm is a lot to expect of a 3 year old (or anybody, really). With option 2 you get a nice break, then come back for evening festivities.
