We just got notified that animal kingdom lodge's pool will be closed while we are there. We booked the hotel because of the pool, so now we decided to change hotels. We don't know where to stay now! We are so upset!! We never stayed at AKL before so we were really excited. Guess we'll have to try again for a future trip. :sad2:

So sorry Bellebride...but the GOOD news, is there are SO many other resorts to choose from! We stayed at WLVillas the last trip, and are staying at BoardWalk Villas for our Disneymoon!! Good luck choosing one! :thumbsup2

If you want a good pool I hear the Yachat & Beach Club one is the best

My husband and I stayed at Coronado Springs and really enjoyed it. It has a huge pool, and it's as nice as Animal Kingdom lodge (my mom and I stayed there one year) in my opinion. It is a lot of walking though and there are a lot of people. For a moderate resort though it's gorgeous and the staff is fantastic.

I'm curious when are you going? We are there for our honeymoon as well January 19-26th I hope the pool is open then.

Jan. 18-23. We got a notice in the mail saying that the pool will be closed starting Jan. 4 and reopen at the end of January, not sure what the 'end' means, but we don't want to take the chance of a lot of noise and no pool. They are busing guests over to the villa pool, but we really wanted the AKL pool and don't want to get on a bus to go to the pool! Especially after a long day at the park.

I agree with the previous poster..If I am going in February and not planning on swimming (I am a Floridian..we don't swim when it is below 75!!:rotfl:) then I don't care about the pool.if I am looking for the best pool..I always pick Y&BC.
I love the WL but if I plan on spending time in the pool, I pick YC or BC.

Oh no that's when I'm at AKL, I doubt we'll be swimming but I hope theres not a lot of noise, I haven't had anything in the post.

So we just changed to wilderness lodge... never stayed there before. Its costing the same as Animal Kingdom.

I think you'll like Wilderness Lodge's pool - I find it much more interesting than AKL's pool, plus you can swim with baby ducks there! :cutie:

WHAT!!??

Really!??

That is soooo cool!!! Now i want to stay in WL...

:rotfl: I don't know what attracts them to the pool, but there always seemed to be tons of ducks there. DH got so close to them that they walked on his hands under the water!
