Hi once you have booked your holiday is there any chance you could change the date of when you are due to go? Has anyone ever done anything like this?

Depends who you go with. With Airtours Holiday Plus you can change your holiday, free within a certain period. I booked one hotel then a friend advised me against that particular one so I went back and changed hotels.

going with airtours but not plus so can i still change to dates how much do you think it may cost?

We get this a lot as my hubby is an IT contractor...we book for when we THINK he will be quiet, but of course things change.

This year we are booking 7 months ahead, so making sure we can change our plans is a top priority. Each company has a totally different policy...Expedia WONT on the flights we want, Travel City WILL for £25 per head, the same with Virgin. Other companies have quoted £50 per head to change details. If you have booked a package holiday with Airtours and you are more than 8 weeks from departure, then yes, there shouldnt be a problem...it will cost you, but there is no reason why dates or even location cant be changed.

Good luck.

Allie

PS: if you are changing due to illness, bereavement or other such difficulties then your travel insurance may cover some of the charges to change details.

We changed with Virgin £25 per person, extended a 2 week trip to a 3 week trip, which I thought wasnt bad really!

Just got my airtours brochure out and it says.........
STANDARD HOLIDAY - change of date £25* only available outside 8 weeks.

*Per person plus any price differential.

Hope this helps.

thanks for all the replys i have booked to go in jan05 first time to disney but know thinking i should of booked to go in may so not really sure what to do

Why do you prefer May to Jan? Are you able to go at either time?

Ask advice on which is the quieter time to go and base it on that.

Plenty of users on here are willing to help out.

Post a new message .... January or May When should we go? then you'll get peoples opinions of when to go.

Rings, May is an excellent time to go, certainly better weather!!

It can also depend on what you want to do. Most companies can be persuaded to waive the admin fees if you're increasing their revenue, ie adding something to the booking like extra nights or passes.

If you only want to change dates, or even reduce the length of your stay, there will typically be a fee to pay, which depends on the operator's policy.

Word of warning- cruises are usually not changeable, so for anyone who's booked a Disney Cruise for example, expect to lose what you've paid if you try and amend your dates. Virtually all cruise lines operate this policy (incl Carnival, Royal Caribbean etc), so the operators have to cover their costs by passing the charges on to you.

We just had flights booked and had to change as I found out I was pregnant and baby due when we were on hol!!! so moved holiday to June (from Oct) and had to pay £50 per person with Virgin and their are 8 of us going and they had not even processed the tickets - so they have made £400 for doing nothing and I am sure they have filled our Oct seats that we had to canx!!!

Roll on 11th June :)

hi natty:wave:
we are going with virgin and had to move our dates also(because of eldest son's school trip)from june 04 to this october and was charged £25 pp even though our holiday ended up costing just over £900 extra(this was because we lost a free child place and eldest son will be classed as an adult when we now travel)i was not happy about this and tried to get them to waiver this with no luck:rolleyes: maybe i should write to the boss himself and ask him why i am being charged this extra money when i phoned in plenty of time before i am actually traveling(like last april 03)and they are making more money from us::yes::
anyway i have had my moan;)
