Changing FP+ due touring plans recommendations?

I decided to get a touring plans subscription yesterday, we leave for WDW in a week. So I'm trying to put together a custom touring plan and it is suggesting I drop a Tomorrowland Speedway FP+ when I optimize. From what I've ready TP is pretty accurate with wait times and such, so if that's the case, I should change my FP+, right? I want to trust the system but I'm hesitant to change my fastpass! Any thoughts? A lot of the wait times in the touring plan look too good to be true. I stalk MDE when I'm not at WDW just to see wait times and I know MDE tends to overestimate, but still...

Also, am I correct in understanding that you can't see the touring plan itinerary times in the app, just the order of events? Does it update the plan if things change in the park and wait times have changed from what was predicted?

Speedway is not an attraction you want to spend much time in line for. Depending on your other plans, it may be worth keeping (or possibly getting a 4th+ FP for).

Whenever people post about touring plans predicted wait times on here, they usually look unreasonably low.

What time is the FP for? The lines take forever there, I would keep the FP unless you plan to ride before 10:00.

You'd have to post what your plan is to get useful opinions as to whether or not to drop the FP. Speedway is "gettable" as a 4th, but it's a miserable line, so if you're not doing it at RD or shortly thereafter, I'd definitely want a FP.

The optimized plan has us hitting Speedway at 9:16 am with a 5 minute wait. I'd be swapping my 10:45 Speedway for a 10:35 Small World FP+ if I follow the touring plan recommendation.

small world is an attraction you don't waste a FP+ on. You will walk by that place 10 times in a few days. One of those times, there will be little to no wait. You jump on it then.

Disney is part planning, and part going with the flow. You have to be able to pivot when needed.

So the option is to drop the Speedway for small world, and swap the position of small world and lunch. After PPF, try for a 4th FP+ for Under the Sea and 5th for Jungle cruise. This is for a party of 4, IDK how reasonable it is for us to get a 4th and 5th FP+.

I used the touring plans app on my spring break vacation and avoided all lines in every park but magic kingdom (waited 40 minutes for big thunder mountain). We got to ride everything and had plenty of “chill” time each day.

One thing I would recommend is sit down with a map of each park and compare to your touring plan with it. Sometimes I found a couple wonky choices in my “optimized” plan and was able to make my plan more optimal on my own just by tinkering with it.

on that plan I hope it would have you take the railroad from Dumbo to Splash Mtn. Actually, where does the rest of Frontierland and Adventureland fit in? Splash looks out of place. Their plan has you running all over the place.

Loving this feedback; thanks so much and please keep it coming! I was not really into the idea of using touring plans because I didn't in 2016, and we had an amazing time. But I heard such raves about it here I had to try it. And I love the detailed planning. So I guess I should optimize and then move around to accomodate my existing fastpasses? Then have it recalculate times and use that plan as a loose guide, maybe??

I should note that this is day one of two in MK, and I didn't really put in all the attractions, I was just trying to get a feel for the software, so I just selected a bunch of attractions and got right into it to see what it could do. So it's probably a little silly of me to put so much weight into it at this point given I haven't really fed the software all of the necessary data...

During spring break?! That's amazing!!

True, it has be going clear across the park to make that FP+, and it is soooo close to the end of the FP+ window! I should put more frontier and adventure land attractions in (see my earlier note about not really getting everything in) and see what it does differently. I probably jumped the gun a little with my running over to disboards before getting everything in. I guess i just wanted to know ASAP if I should be changing up FP+ plans...

Since you have 2 MK days, my rec is always to split the park in two rather than try to do the whole park both days. Makes your FPs and walking so much easier.

This is what we do. One day, we focus on Liberty Square, Frontierland, and Adventureland. The other day we focus on Fantasyland, New Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. It makes it easier, and if we have extra time, we can always go back to our favorites or pick up a FP in another part of the park.

It was!! It took a little bit of work before going, but once there it was so worth it. Being able to do all of Animal Kingdom, including pandora, without waits was something I didnt think would happen.

I like to put the attractions in the order I want to do them and then "evaluate" instead of "optimize " to see which lines are predicted to be the longest. ...I pick FP+ based on the results (including consideration for which rides are tough to get as a 4th FP, which rides are a family priority and the hopes of using our first 3 FP+ in time to get more).
