Changing dates with a DING?

Can you easily change your flight if it already a ding fare? I need to change the date and leave a day earlier, can I do this and still get the ding fare? Or do I cancel and hope to get another one on my new date? If I do cancel can they credit my card back for the amount? Ugh! I'm getting a headache!

I didn't know the answer, so I just started to "work through" as if I was changing a ding fare we have. You can change them to another date, but you will not be offered the ding fare. YOu will just be offered the fares that would be available if you booked traditionally. If a ding fare came available for your new date, I would call SWA and see if they could change it from one ding to another. I was trying to adjust some flights and from talking to customer service, it sounded like if both fares are available, they can make the change, even though you may not be able to do it on line.
Did you buy a RT or OW with the Ding?

It was a one- way. Thanks for your help. I will keep looking for the dings, I have atleast a month, hope they keep them up!

I was able to change a ding rate to a lower regular rate (internet special, I think) in the Travel Services section of the website.
