Changing clothes after a race?

For the WDW Marathon this year, we went back to the hotel to change, and then came back to Epcot for the day. We were both hot, sweaty messes. No way would I have wanted to spend the rest of the day feeling all grimy.

When we ran the W&D in 2012, we did bring a change of clothes. Since there was an after party for W&D they actually had a changing tent for runners to change in. So we packed our clothes, a couple towels from the hotel and some wipes. With it being a cool night, that did the trick for the after party.

I know a lot of people changed in the restrooms, and while I understand why (not as hot) it also made the lines for the restroom SO long, which was frustrating.
I think this year I might change in the restroom too, but I will feel bad if there is a huge line.

FWIW, there are many bathrooms*...when I got to my chosen bathroom there was no line, either on my way in or out. Of course, I'm slow. As I may have mentioned. A faster runner's mileage (ha!) will vary.

I'm also a very modest person who absolutely hated changing for PE at the lockers, and I became skilled then at doing actual bonafide bathroom-ish things WHILE changing, and not taking any noticeably longer amount of time. Though I will admit the sports-bra-changing caused some problems, as did the dealing-with-the-Prana-dress-shelf-bra.

*and only one changing area...which was only usable if you checked a bag, which I did not, as I let DH bring everything...so I was either going to be gross OR use a stall!

:)

For both my WDW Halfs, I left a change of clothes and a Norwex cloth in the car. Once I finished, just simple went back to the car, washed down with a Norwex cloth and changed. Felt like a million bucks....two million with my medal ;).

If staying at Disney, leave a change of clothes and stuff needed to freshen up in a check bag and find a restroom.

Interesting comments about the mylar blankets. in 2012 I got one, but weirdly enough this past year they were giving them out but no one ever gave me one. The volunteers opened them and wrapped them around you, but they seem to have dodged me. It was humid and warm, and I come from a place where I run in sub-zero temps thus didn't matter to me.
