Changing catagory question on pricing

Hello! We booked the Wish a delux verandah. My mom is now happy with OV and wanted to see what we can save by switching. When I go to the site, the prices have changed where an OV is now more than our Verandha. If I have it changed, do they base the change on the original price at when I booked? or the current price?

Who knows if we even keep this sailing, see with can do much longer sailings for the same price.

A recent change is that they charge you the current price (used to be that you were charged the price it would have been on the day that you originally booked).

Anytime you make a change like that to a reservation, your new pricing is ALWAYS going to be the current price of whatever you are booking into. That being said, I would keep looking as there may be a time before sailing where it is cheaper and when you may be able to switch and save money. Unfortunately, there is no magic trick to this, but rather just keep looking.

Oh, I know, it's just that it feels really underhanded, sneaky and crappy. Especially when the previous way seems like it would have resulted in more people actually upgrading prior. I actually have to wonder if this is going to have the opposite effect.

I am actually surprised that they let you have an old price when you make changes. Try that with any other industry and it wouldn’t happen, right?

Meh. Some other industries have practices such as honoring competitors' discounts, etc. I don't think DCL would ever have even considered that lol.
