Changing bounceback dates -new rules question

We will be at WDW this July. We were thinking we would book a bounce back trip for later this year if possible. When I booked the current trip, the Agent recommended booking the maximum number of dates and then adjusting them later after purchasing flights, checking work schedules, etc. I was able to call back months later and alter my dates somewhat.

I am now reading that they no longer allow these types of adjustments? Does that mean that if we book a bounceback for mid December this July, we will not be able to change those dates at all later? If that's the case, we probably won't book a bounceback and just hope for AP rates to come out.

Any advice?

I added a night to my BB offer that I booked in November (this August, POFQ), last week with no problem.

Yes, you can modify your dates, however, when GS accesses the BB pool and enters the new set of dates (like you would do with a new reservation) - it has to show availability. Even if the dates are shorter and fall within the old dates.

What they apparently will no longer do is auto-adjust your current days down. For instance, people would intentionally over-extend their BB reservations on the front/backend, guaranteeing themselves to be locked in to certain dates; call back after flights/schedules/etc. were finalized to modify their trip; and GS would just trim excess days off...all without having to plug new dates back into the reservation system and start over again.

As Lehuaann said, changes can be made as long as there is availability; however, taking a longer trip and making it shorter is not as easy as it used to be. Under the new policy, if you book a 7 night trip (for example) and want to change it to 5 nights, those 5 nights have to be available under that discount in order for the nights to be taken off. If those 5 nights are not showing as available under the BB, your reservation can't be modified for the shorter stay under that discount.
